    Yeah but sometimes public donations will generate more donations, in the "well if everyone else is gonna give money then maybe I should too".

Hmmmmmm that's a good point, is ok everyone has a different point of view of the problems for the world, Some people like bono are trying to help or doing something for the people of Africa and its fine but some others like the AC/DC singer are sitting or resting on his bed or doing something different than help others, also is fine. I'm from a country with terrible social problems like Africa, the extreme pooverty is present in so many places of this country, even in the city you can see people without a home, hungry and health problems. I think the best thing to fight it is not tell others what do or comment the work for the others is only help.
  3. I believe that Jones's quotes are ripped off the context. The fact that he blasts Bono very weak because I think that Bono means it by all his heart and soul. But I don't believe all those artists, you know...

    Everyone is free to decide what to do with his own money, but it's a good thing too call for people to do charity work.

  5. Give to charity for the right reasons. To hell with what other people think - what a world we live in eh? When people try to make a positive difference, they get shot for it (metaphorically speaking, generally). Whatever you think of Bono, the man's got thick skin because he stands for what he believes in and is prepared to put himself in the firing line time and time again. Same for any celebrity. I didn't notice any bad press for George Clooney when he initiated that charity telethon thing for Haiti, same as he did post 9/11. I'm not saying he didn't, but if he did get jip for it, it wasn't particularly widespread.


  6. Maybe, maybe not. The other band members may have objected occasionally to some of his campaigning but his politics influence his music, and they're both influenced by his religion. Complicated beasts these artists!
