I have one that will have all of you sending me to hell also and right away.... City of Blinding Lights I can't stand it. I just have to skip it everytime it comes up. Certainly a great song, I'm not denying it - just not for me

It has its moments, but I get what you mean. To me, COBL most of the time is just an OK song; some days it's great... but other days I can't stand it either

  3. +2

And COBL isn't bad, I hate the bridge though and the chorus is a bit unsubtle.

But musically its brilliant, fantastic intro.
  4. Still An Cat Dubh for me. I'll join that bus to hell.

  5. gonna have to agree with this, as much as I realise he's a legend I just don't like Johnny Cash's voice.

  6. Hello!

On the more recent 360° dates, City of Blinding Lights is almost completely skippable to me. Packs nowhere NEAR as much punch as it did opening up the Vertigo Tour. Still a decent song live, but to me, it's just not as magical on the 360° Tour.

Studio version is meh, maybe a B, B+ for me.

On most Vertigo bootlegs, however, it's a solid A.
  10. I'll throw in a vote for Vertigo Tour versions of "Bullet the Blue Sky", while I'm at it. I'm listening to 2005-10-10 NYC, and it jussssssst wonnnnnnnnnt ennnnnnnnnd. Only 5.5 minutes, too- how can it seem so long?!?!

  11. Same here. I don't like it that much. Although when they performed it that one time in honour of his death (I believe sometime during the vertigo tour) it was pretty cool. I'd just much rather have something like Hold Me Thrill Me on Zooropa than the Wanderer.

All that fucking bla bla bluuumm the hands that brruuummmm johny comes bmmmh uuummm pleaase uuhhmmm bla bla bruummm...

Nevertheless, that extra long versions of BTBS featured the very only POP references (apart of the Discoteque performances on 3rd leg) of the whole Vertigo Tour, so it's something at least. Terrible version, though, I agree with you. Only the Please reference and the Edge's solo made it for me.
