Nevertheless, that extra long versions of BTBS featured the very only POP references (apart of the Discoteque performances on 3rd leg) of the whole Vertigo Tour, so it's something at least. Terrible version, though, I agree with you. Only the Please reference and the Edge's solo made it for me.

Edge's solo was nice, but it boiled the song down to something very quiet and direction-less on the Vertigo Tour. Give me BTBS from the Elevation Tour- particularly the Boston DVD- any day of the week.

And the "Please" snippet still isn't enough to get me to say I enjoyed hearing BTBS on Vertigo boots.
  2. Yeah agreed on BTBS from the Vertigo Tour. I sometimes find myself skipping it on the Chicago DVD, although I do love the versions on the Zoo TV and Boston DVD's.
  3. I'd take a Bullet from the Zoo era anyday.

Least favourite U2 song...in terms of albums tracks, I'd be hard pressed to find one I really disliked. The songs drift in and out over time.

The lowest rated album track in my iTunes is Grace at 2 stars. But even then it's a nice track, doesn't pack an exciting Electric Co. punch but I think U2 would be very boring if all their songs were attack, attack, attack.

It's nice to have these relaxing songs thrown in now and again. Also gives you a reason to listen to U2 as well, diversity is fun.

There are some B-Sides I can't stand though

    Nicely put.

I agree that U2 does well when they write/perform quiet songs like Grace - even if Grace itself neve quite did it for me. Yet One Step Closer is one of my favourites from "Bomb" while So Cruel and Promenade are beauties. I still, however, think songs like these should be omitted from live shows....maybe just snippited. Unless the song is a "hit" (i.e. known to the casual attendees) slow songs tend to kill the momentum from their concerts. An opinion, of course.

I should probably move this post somewhere else but...

The Bullet The Blue Sky from the Zoo Radio Broadcast (you know, the one with all the interviews between each song) - what show is it from? I was lead to believe that it was from the Houston (1992) show but after listening to that particular show's audience recording it doesn't seem to be the same version.

That being said, that 13-track CD is amazing...great sound quality...good (but incomplete) tracking listing. What I think would be great if it could be expanded (i.e. add in a few/many more tracks like Zoo Station, Desire, and Love Is Blindness) to really make that CD a little more polished.

Sorry but I don't have any Zoo Radio Broadcasts, though I am aware of vaious things mentioned about radio/TV broadcasts, I just haven't checked anything out. Quick google though came up with this sentence on wikipedia "The Zoo Radio special included live selections from 1992 Toronto, Dallas, Tempe, Arizona, and New York shows."

Is that what you are describing? If so then it may be worth checking out those shows.

And a quick Youtube came up with:
