What is everyone else's opinion on one of the best Hard Rock bands of all time?
Personally, I think no song of Led Zeppelin sucks and every album is epic. The only band along with U2 that I can listen to the whole catalogue of songs for a whole day.

I feel like they tried to make everything they did TOO epic. Kashmir? Epic. Stairway to Heaven? Epic. But to have basically an entire disc's worth of "epic" material? To me, that just screams "let's play the song, but leave the recorder on for another few minutes and just jam. It'll be epic!"
Songs like "Houses of the Holy", "Trampled Under Foot", "Communication Breakdown", etc....those 4-minute rock n' roll masterpieces that literally sound like the 1970s, are where it's at for me, in terms of LZ.

I was like you about a year ago. I couldn't be bothered listening to an album's worth where there was 6-10 minute songs. But only a couple of months ago, I got listening to them. I listened to all their albums (except Physical Graffiti) in a week. You just have to get really listening to them, that's all. All albums of them are epic, maybe not all songs but all songs are good at least.

Don't get me wrong- I could listen to IV front to back, back to front, front to back again all day, every day. I think it's one of the best cohesive albums devised to man.
Physical Graffiti is similar...I own that one too, and it's similar to the way I feel about many double albums- if they would have condensed that into one album as opposed to a double, it would have been KILLER. I mean absolutely stellar.
Hopefully I'll grow more into the longer stuff...we shall see..
