1. Nexus One is supposed to come to my service provider by the end of the month....will definitely check it out too.

  2. I saw another one I liked the look of - Samsung HD Icon.

I'm gonna get a Nexus One or Hero or the Icon. So many nice ones out.

  3. Avoid the samsung. Crippled with next to no internal memory and seemingly rejected by their firmware team.

  4. Ah right, thanks for the tip. I was ready to get it tomorrow - plus I think it runs Symbian, I don't like that. Too old and past its time.

Sounds like the Nokia 6121 where it had one firmware update and 20MB of memory.

Think 13mb of internal memory on a device with the spec of the Samsung

My LG Renoir has a 3 inch touch screen which looked massive when I first had it (70% of that wa sprobably down to the excitement of having such a nice phone). But it later turned out that it was a bit too small for internet browsing and the such.

Looking forward to it, will miss the Renoir though. F**kicng brilliant video camera on it.

Had it about a week now and I am impressed to say the least. The 1Ghz processor really does make it lightening fast. The touch screen is very responsive. Internet browsiing is pretty damn fast either on the Wi-fi or through the HSDPA (which is accessible a lot of the time). Camera is pretty sweet, certainly lives up to the 'HD' in the name. Video likewise.

Only downside is that Windows Marketplace is shit. Other than that it's a superb piece of kit.

    another downside. . . .apparently it isn't getting a Windows 7 update
  8. Is anyone an expert on port forwarding, more specifically static ips?
  9. Have you tried http://portforward.com/ ? They have guides for many models. The principal is the same on all routers though

  10. Only port forwarding I've done is for Football Manager network games Don't play online any more though lol

EDIT: I'd definitely check out that site Risto posted. I checked on there when I was doing football manager and although it didn't directly help solve my problem (think there's a program you download to do it for you) it helped me to log into the router over the internet and do it manually.

Apparently it's up to HTC whether or not they will release a version with HTC Sense etc. Since they completely overhauled the Windows OS on the HD2, I'd imagine they'd have to do the same again for Windows Phone 7 if users want it on the HD2 working in similar fashion to Windows 6.5.

And since they're moving towards Android now, I can't see them taking Windows Phone 7 apart for the HD2. Oh well, I'm quite happy with what I have. Really nice OS thanks to HTC. They have worked hard to almost eradicate any sniff of Windows' boring interface and the like. So it's a downside depending on your angle.
