1. I really want them to play Winter. Either version is fine with me actually. If they do the Brothers version I'd like to see it paired up with White As Snow for the acoustic set. I think that would be very haunting.
  2. I think they should make the set more rockin!
Especially in the first third. More arms up in the air and clap songs.
The beginning with breathe is good but should be followed by i will follow then boots, elevation...
But by my senses and would be better than good to start with no line on the horizon...

It has to be the Linear version or nothing. Without any kind of backing tracks - do it all live.

It's a good song, but No Line has been sounding really good, so no there's no reason to replace it. I would like to hear it played though.

No Line has to be played. The title track of the album is the most important followed by the single tracks.

I've heard Please and Gone played at concerts on the Elevation tour and they played some tunes on Vertigo too. They do this with most albums. I'd like to see them play All I Want is You, God Part II, Angel of Harlem, When Love Comes to Town, and Desire. That ain't gonna happen. Maybe MoFo comes back or Staring at the Sun does, but you're not going to get more than one in the main set for a concert in 2010, nor should there be more than one.

Okay, but why this overload of ATYCLB songs. You have the most spectacular stage ever made, and then you play Elevation and Stuck In A Moment where you could have played Last Night On Earth and Please.

Because they're the most popular and most well-known, and the ones U2 can play with their eyes closed and their hands tied if they had to. Same with One, Streets, With Or Without You, New Year's Day, Still Haven't Found, Vertigo, City Of Blinding Lights, Mysterious Ways...the list goes on.

You go to a U2 show and ask the people there who aren't massive fans but went for the experience and because they could, ask them to hum any of those songs. Now ask them to hum Your Blue Room or Ultra Violet if they were played at their show. I guarantee they couldn't...because those ones they can hum are the ones they'd go for. Only three songs there I'd go for but then that's just me.

That said, I'm surprised at what did come this time around. Ultra Violet, Unforgettable Fire, Your Blue Room, Electrical Storm...some good surprises there, and hoping they finally find some really obscure stuff they hadn't even considered before. With the love for ATYCLB this time round, why not blow out When I Look At The World? It's never been fully played before, so why not next time? It's a great song.

I kinda wish ATYCLB and HTDAAB didn't get the acclaim they did. This is what contributes to them overplaying and wearing those albums out. But the love for the songs people know from them gets U2 to keep playing them and it kind of becomes...''Hmmm, what shall we replay tonight? Ah yeah, let's play Beautiful Day and Elevation for the 365890000th time. The audience loves those!''
  6. I'm not sure why I think this would work...

But I think it would be cool to segue from "Walk On" to "Where the Streets Have No Name", but instead of doing it with "You'll Never Walk Alone", they could sing a verse of "A Sort of Homecoming"

    "Walk on, walkkkk onnnn...."

    [synth chords play out]

    "Tonight....we'll build a bridge
    Across the sea and land
See the sky, the burning rain
She will die and live again
    Tonight.....
    Tonight....."

    [Streets guitar]
  7. Is it pretty certain that they'll even change the setlist much on the new legs? I can't imagine it will change much.

From what I can tell there were about 19 songs during the first two legs' shows that were played every night no matter what. Then 3 or 4 others that change slightly, but not much.

So the questions I guess are: 1) Are we likely to see completely new songs to fill the 3 or 4 "rotating" spots? And will any of the 19 seemingly certain songs (all the songs from the new album, streets, one, with or without you, ultraviolet, unforgettable fire, etc) change?

    What do you think?

If the news of the Achtung Baby remaster is true, then I'm expecting to see stuff not played in a good while. So Cruel, Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World...

You're definitely on to something here...I think they should use more of their OWN songs to segue from one full performance to the next. Don't get me wrong, Unchained Meldoy, You'll Never Walk Alone, When Will I See You Again?, etc. are nice but they have so much of their own to use.
  10. I would love to see A Sort of Homecoming make an appearance anywhere to be honest!

They need to play I will follow just so they have played it on every single tour

Electrical Storm rewored to be more like the original would be a lot better too

I think Mofo and Discotheque would work amazingly on the 360 stage

I agree and disagree...I actually LOVE the Orbit remix just as much as the original, but The Edge ruined that song live for me with the seemingly pointless guitar work he started doing in the "You're in my mind, all of the time" parts later on in the song. It's just a random melody of notes that doesn't work for me.

And as for ASOH, so would I...even if they only played it in Dublin if they end up making a stop there, just so I can hear it on a bootleg...
