I think they'll end up filming another show for sure, but I can't see them shelling out the dough to have a pro-shot concert, and then JUST use the footage for free online. They don't have much to lose by releasing it commercially, it's already been filmed.

I wonder why it hasn't been released though? Maybe they're waiting until the tour is over so fans aren't like "oh I watched the dvd I don't need to see the show now"

Possible, but Vertigo was still in heavy rotation by the time the Chicago DVD was released. If they were worried so much about that, I doubt they would have broadcasted the show for free, not requiring any payment at all. And everybody who's anybody knows that things just aren't the same unless you see them live, no matter the band.

Interesting that they didn't rush to have it finished by Christmas- even though that WOULD have been a bit soon after the 10/25 recording date. Makes me slightly happier though- this COULD mean we're getting some sweet bonus features, though I'm not entirely sure what all could be on there that we don't know exists...perhaps Barcelona rehearsal footage? Drowning Man?!?

But hopefully they go with 'oh i just saw an awesome show on dvd and now i can see the real thing' if they release it march/april and then they can film another show in europe/south america

I wonder if the "exclusive" format is something different than Blu Ray.

When they headed for the March release, 4 versions were planned. Standard, Ldt Deluxe Edition, Ltd Super Deluxe Edition (2DVDs) and Blu Ray... curious if that changed...
