1. And your parents? I am insured for free in my parents policy. (Think that method is widely spread here in NL)

No sane person wants to live without health insurance. Every time someone dies in the USA because they are too poor their relatives show up here on TV. Makes us think that the USA are still a developing country. Its a disgrace.

I am sure it has disadvantages, costs are running high, even here in the Netherlands. But imho it is a pillar of society.

Anyway, we wont agree on this. Just my opinion

Rights are granted by god. When the government grants rights they can take them away.

The sad part of that statement, is I'm not a terribly religious man.

  3. My moms uninsured. Shes dirt-poor too. Problaay worse off than me actually. Since I'm only almost twenty, I got a lots of room left in my life too move up. Shes in her fortys.

i woulnd't mind that, as long as it wasen't that big a chunk.

They have to pay for it. Hence why its bullshit. I'm actually for a public option for those who can't pay. This is just a big-ass takeover, thats going to give the government way to much power.

If that's the way it is, how will people who haven't been able to afford health care pay for it know?

And even if it was to be provided by the state, where would the state find the money that's neccessary for it in the middle of financial crisis? Nah, there's something wrong.

Sorry about that. But you really think you'll go to jail?
There will be packages that wont be that expensive. Even unemployed people here are insured.

Best investment you can make, maybe you are lucky (or die without needing 'maitenance') but a serious illness can haunt your bank account for decades.

A number of states are alredy planning on challenging it in the supreme courts.

The U.S. government was never meant to have that kind of power anyway. The founders wanted the states to handle stuff like this on there own. Basicly all the federael government was supposed to do, was supply the military, and tell them what they coulnd'y do.

  8. For the money of those who work, that's how the EU works. And many people tend to abuse this.

It has a provision. If you dont buy health insurance, you either pay a fine, or go to jail.

Fortunantly much of the bill, doesen't kick in till 2014. I will almost assuredly be in the Air force by than, and the U.S, military has great insurance plans. (still need to get in shape some more)

On a funny note, the campaign of virtually everyone Repub is going to be killing this. Its sad really, since people really aint gonna care about anything else. A candidate could probally get up on stage, and say he rape little boys, and people would still vote for him, if he vowed to fught against this.

Of course abuse is bad. But letting people die because they cant afford treatment is bad too.

I'm not saying that we should let people die, modern society is supposed to show solidarity to the weak. But we should prevent some people from abusing the system. For example, there are thousands of unemployed Gypsies in Slovakia who don't even think of getting a job because they receive all the money from the state anyway, and they don't need to move a single finger. You've got into trouble and need some help? Alright, surely, you should be helped. But if you deliberately stay in the same position, I don't care if you die or not. Move your effin' arse to change to course of things.
