1. Why shoulnd't they be allowed to though?
  2. Probably politics. Afraid to be pushed in the USA corner. Not that something is wrong with that corner Can't think of any other reason.

  3. Here's to that.

    Revolution Time Again.

  4. I think you were right about the Ron Paul....I hope he runs again. We need a huge makeover in our government.
  5. To all ye fair folk, particularly the UK souls to whom it may concern - any reaction to the budget?

I genuinely believe our country is a good one and that things can become good again, but there needs to be some major changes and a few steelies up slacking rears, 'cause it does feel like the current administration, and to be honest many of those who sit on either side of Westminster are determined to run the place into the ground.

The 10% rise on excise duty for cider was the final straw for me though. One of my friends started a Facebook group in protest to it (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=108529325839226&ref=nf), and it's gained near on 10k members since 1:30pm today. Inspired. 2. Obamacare contains enough bribes to various states that the government could probally buy a third-world country.
    3. They snuck in a provision making it so the government is responsible for all student loans. What does that have to do with health care?
    4. The I.R.S. is to be the chief enforcement agency.
    5. 14 states(including Michigan) are preparing to file lawsuits challenging ints constitutionality, on grounds that it violate the 10th amedment, of the Bill Of Rights.

    Discuss.

In regard to number 3...I think it's an economic thing. Who knows. As for the constitutionality of this bill, you are right, you can't be forced to buy something. I don't know if Mass. is challenging it, but they should be.

On another note, the US needs to stop this "War on Terror". It's a new age "Cold War" but we're much more paranoid. Just something of an impression I'm getting from it all.

"We've gone from the top of the Premier League to the bottom of the Conference in 13 wasted years – and we say it's time to sack the manager."

Who do you think you'll vote for, if I may ask? When is the election taking place, in May?

Hadn't the 'paranoid' War on Terror been begun, more events like 9/11 would have happened.

Not a problem, I'm either voting Lib Dem or Green Party, depends whether there's a Lib Dem candidate standing in my local constituency. There was one last time but he then backed out if I remember correctly. I voted Lib Dem in the local and EU elections, or did I throw a Green vote in? Can't remember, but that should give you an idea of my general stance to things. I have no love for Labour and the Tories are no better in my opinion - all fart, no follow-through.

  9. Do you really think that if Afghanistan, which was Al Qaeda's home back then, had not been invaded, they would not do more things like that? I know that the invasion destabilised the region, and great hatred towards the US rose, but attacking terrorists right where they resided and kept expanding their organistation was essential in my opinion. Now they're moved to Yemen and sadly, they are successful at taking over that country.

I'm not saying that without the invasion, we'd have world peace. It's just that old if, would, had,... game. We just won't know.
"War on terror" is much more than just the Afghanistan invasion, btw. And you already mentioned the effect on "Al Qaeda"... you only forget that "they" never left the country.

Problem is the violence breeds violence thing. With every man, woman, child killed by the western military in the Middle East, you produce one more so called terrorist.

I do realise that terrorist organisations such as Al Qaeda are spread all over the Middle East region. They had the biggest power in Afghanistan back then, though, so it's logical that the country was invaded. Not saying that they ever really left the country, not saying they really will any time soon, that's why there still are American and other troops over there. The thing is, in Yemen Al Qaeda are gaining back the power they have lost in Afghanistan and while some might have thought that the issue in Afghanistan has been solved there to some extent, it's appearing again, just in another country. So yes, it is a cursed cycle, that has to be admitted.
