1. I think we should all realistically accept that very few changes are likely to be made .

    However we can always dream:

    DISCOTHEQUE
    LAST NIGHT ON EARTH
    MOFO
    DO YOU FEEL LOVED
    I WILL FOLLOW
    11 O'CLOCK TIK TOK
    A SORT OF HOMECOMING
    ACROBAT

Taking all of this into consideration probably only 1 or 2 of the songs above will feature on the upcoming Leg of the U2360 Tour. Thank you.

They'd have to plan a setlist change in advance to get a new lighting thing on the go.

That said, they've had a while off to think about it, they could have chosen a batch of new songs to play, even if they're only songs that were released as singles (Please, Staring At The Sun, The Fly, EBTTRT, Wild Horses, MOFO, I Will Follow, Gloria). Those I just mentioned alone would be a great addition to the tour in my opinion.

They just need to mix it up a bit. They're all fantastic songs, I'm sure a casual fan who heard Please as opposed to Pride would be eager to investigate Pop. And Please -> Streets from Hasta La Vista/Popmart DVD...

EDIT: And we all know that The Claw is the offspring of a Zoo TV/Popmart lovefest. Some amazing graphics could be put up there.

EDIT 2: Looking back, someone mentioned Out of Control and Electric Co. They get my vote.

How hard would it be to transfer the animations and graphics used for Popmart shows to U2360 shows?

Technology might be different and what not but somewhere the original plans/graphics are lying around somewhere? Would open the 360 Tour up to a whole load of new songs.
  3. Between legs U2 always change/add songs. And there is no need to promote NoLine in the same cities
  4. I Agee with everyone that the main set needs some more energy in it but for me the real problem is the encore (UV Aside). MOS is a horrible closer in my opinion. After seeing Muse end their gig with KOC , u2 must close with a banger. Walking out after hearing KOC was amazing. As great as the song is wLking out after MOS took awY from the show. I think it should open the encore but def not be the closer.

  5. Sadly, yes. The only thing that's constantly crossing my mind is the fact they didn't name the tour after the album or a song on it. So there might be some room for change, hopefully ...

  6. from u2.com:

Speaking to Dave Fanning of Irelands's 2FM a few weeks back, Edge said the band had begun thinking about this year's shows. Dave mentioned that in 2009 there was always five or six songs from No Line on the Horizon: 'Would you keep that many?

'We were talking about adding more,' said Edge, in a decidedly enigmatic tone. 'Changing out some of the songs...'

And that was it, the subject was closed, he was giving nothing else away. But we can dream can't we ? So here's the thing: if you could add in a song from 'No Line' which wasn't a regular in the set last year ... what would it be?

And while you're musing on that one, what song from any earlier album, which didn't feature in 2009, would you love to hear in the mix this time around ?

Answers in the box below please. One different track from No Line, one other track from any earlier album. (And why, if you have the time...)

(If your memory needs refreshing on the songs the band were performing last year, check the 2009 dates and click on any city to see the set list.)

personally i dont think they should replace anything (except maybe boots or (if they're going to continue playing the funky disco remix) crazy tonight) but im hoping for fez (hopefully as the opener) and maybe white as snow or cedars
  7. Magnificent out, Crazy Out, make Unknown Caller a little more Raw, MOS on rotation

From NLOTH I'd love to see Stand Up Comedy. And I always thought it would be a great opener! From any other album, wow, that's a difficult choice. I'm going to go for Last Night On Earth. I can guess some people's reactions when they read this (:o ). But remember the outro and how Bono used to storm down the walkway into the crowd.

But maybe I'm listening to too many Popmarts at the moment. Ask me angain when I've listened to too many Lovetowns and I'll probably say God Part II!!!

    AGREE AGREE AGREE AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elevation tour finished with Walk On. When Vertigo shows finished with Vertigo I just walk away from the gig (and away from my iPod) with a great big smile on my face.

Finish with Breathe. Or UV. Or I Will Follow. Or The Fly (gotta go!)!!!
  10. Well, i guess the band will not mix up the setlist a lot, but i hope they wil ditch a lot of songs and play some songs from the early days and Pop. Because i was to young in 92 and 97, I never saw zootv or pop. I hope the band play more from this age... Beautiful Day, Stuck, Litlle While and Elevation should get a rest. I hope they play songs like please, gone, staring at te sun and Even Better than the Real Thing. Also some songs from the old days, like 11' o clock and bad
So i'm hoping for this setlist(A)

    1. Breathe
    2. Get on your boots
    3. Magnificent
    4. No Line on The Horizon
    5. Unkown Caller

    6. Even Better than the Real Thing
    7. Until the End of the World
    8. New Years Day

    9. Stand up Comedy
    10. The Unforgettable Fire / A sort of Homecoming / Al I want is you

    11. Please, fading into:
    12. City of Blinded Lights
    13. Vertigo
    14. I go crazy (remix)

    15. Sunday Bloody Sunday (Popmart style, Edge solo)
    16. One
    17. Moment of Surrender
    18. Where the Streets have no Name

    19. Mofo
    19. Gone / Discotheque / Last Night on Earth
    20. Mysterious Ways
    21. Ultraviolet

    22. 11' O Clock Tick Tock or I will Follow
    23. Bad / With or Without you
    24. 40 / Love is Blindness

Of course there are more songs i like to hear, but... if they play these songs, I'm a happy man
  11. Unlike a few people i do see a few changes to the set list for 2010, however as we all know some core songs will be in the list and some that we want aren't!

    A fewpoint
    - I saw 6 N/A shows this past year and will see 5 more in 2010
    - I've seen/felt crowd responses in NY/Boston/Vegas/Vancouver
    - IMO, MOST people I know left feeling like it was a good show, but not a great show (for me I loved them all)
-IMO, alot people wanted 'older' hits played, 'pre 1990', for example 'Pride' wasn't played for most of the N/A shows

As the generational gap of U2 fans widens and with the additon of new work, the discussion are, have and will continue to go on as to what songs, the number or and from what albums should be played. Deep down i think we all know that the band is always challenged to find the right mix of songs that will match its wide range of audience age WHILE at the same time promoting their new work.

so saying that and after reviewing various set lists from 360, here is a 2010 set list that I could see occuring for a 'N/A'show. THIS WOULDN'T BE MY PERSONAL SET LIST. I have also added 'or's' into my list, essentially this could shows a change in the set list. I say 'N/A' show as I have only seen and felt the feedback of fans at N/A shows.

  12. Play One early in the set or don't play it at all.
    Play something from Pop.
    Something from Zooropa.
    Drop Elevation.
Drop Vertigo. Or Get On Your Boots. Or both.
Play something new to justify the choice of name of the tour.

    Of course, I'm dreaming.
