@dieder- "A bit more realistic", respect your opinion but unfortunitly I think your dreaming

Stand Up / Fez - I agree that this should be added!
    Mofo
    The Fly Vertigo Style
    Discotheque
    Real Thing
    Please
    Last Night On Earth

as i mentioned yesterday, people have to look at this in context. There's no way in hell that the band is going to bring back all of these old songs.... maybe 1 or 2, I believe that you also have to take into consideration the demographics of a U2 audience, average fan is age 35-45 that grew up listeng to the band on the radio. Back in 1997/1998 all of these could have been played (and were), now not so much. To reach there mass concert audience songs like Beautiful Day, Elevation, COBL, One... need to be played.

I wish people would look at this thread seriously as 'what will happen' and not 'what they hope will happen', isn't that the idea of the thread? 'changes to the (current) set list for 2010'

At this point the band only needs to play 2 or 3 songs from 3-6 albums + 6 - 9 from the lastest (NLOTH + SOA?) to reach the 22 - 25 set limit

    cheers
    sH22.

I dont think that is realistic! They wont do Fly Vertigo as it was re-done for the last tour Zoo segment. And there is no chance of them bringing in upto 4 Pop tunes!

  7. If they're really planning a Pop re-release than it's possible. Show needs more Pop anyway. But I don't think they'll change much.

The more Pop the better Dieder. The way its continually overlooked is criminal!

  9. it's annoying. they acknoweldged that the last half of the PopMart tour was incredible and that the show was really good and that everything worked out right (Bono, for example, says that PopMart was his personal highlight). Songs like Mofo, Last Night On Earth and Please are classic. They deserve a comeback

    Too right.

Id open with Mofo on 360 if it were upto me!!
  11. Interesting to see what way this topic's gone.

There seems to be a lot of bemoaning on this page when there really shouldn't be. U2 play to a huge audience, all of whom have payed decent money (or payed the 30 squids to get a crap seat ).

The last tour had a beautiful balance between new songs, classics, more recent songs that everybody likes (CoBL, Vertigo + ATYCLB songs) as well as a few songs that haven't been played in nearly two decades/ songs they've never played before.

You might not agree with the song choice but the balance was good and as a result pretty much everyone went out the door with a smile on their face.

I don't know if they read these pages but that's one thing that the guys should take away with them from the last two legs.

Second thing you've got to ask yourself; do you really want more rotation? The performances on this tour have been marked as superior to the Vertigo tour, probably because the band are more used to the songs.

Would you then swap level of performance for a greater variety of songs, keeping in mind that most people here seem to be only going to 1-2 gigs, if any at all
