  2. ^^ Quite some U2 DVDs have a "foolish" cutting.
    Just take Streets at Slane: Bono's microphone jumps from his hand back to the micro stand (right word?) not only once. Also, on the Popmart DVD during Discotheque (I think) you suddenly see the guys wearing different clothes.

Chicago had some pretty dumb editing too (like Larry clearly not hitting a symbol in the beginning of Vertigo when Bono says "uh huh!".....or how about during Zoo Station when B & E are walking past each other, neither which of whom is singing, yet clearly you hear Bono sing (again) "uh huh!" I think I shouted at the screen when I saw that.

    So, this may very well be a trailer but don't be too surprised if you see this flub on the dvd. I agree it is stupid and blah blah blah, but I don't really see the point in bitching about it. Don't watch it expecting to see just "some show they happened to have filmed", no they always put wayy too much effort into these things, at least since Boston. Performance wise, I think it sounds great, albeit a little raspy, but hell, no one's perfect. Now if only Breathe was in the right spot...
  4. Anyone know why you can't pre-order the super deluxe edition of the DVD on U2.com?
  5. I don't care if the cutting isn't correct to one hundred of a second, as long as the soundquality is good and i can relive the atmosphere of the live-concert (like i could with the other dvds),
    even with the small mistakes bono or the band made during the performance, that's why it is a live-dvd
    the overall shots do the trick for me not the detailed/zoomed-in shots

    that's why i do look forward to the dvd

It still looks as though Hamish Hamilton is in the phase of fast cuts and dizzy camera/zoom shots and angles, although for the that Rose Bowl Vertigo performance it did look tamed down somewhat compared to the Chicago DVD. I can only hope that the rest isn't any worse than that clip and that hopefully it will look better when the DVD is released, otherwise he needs to seriously take a look back at the Boston and Slane DVDs and see what he used to be really good at - as those DVDs rock!
