I think is more desperation, hurt, and sung in spite of whoever's listening, as if to say, "Look what you reduced me to, crawling on the floor- how could you?"
Whereas..
"I have run, I have crawled, I have scaled these city walls, only to be with you"
is more "I have done everything in my potential to be with you. I've reduced myself to crawling, as I thought it would get me fractions closer"
I don't think it has anything to do with love specifically. I think it *usually* has everything to do with the desperation and the attempts to get someone to realize what you're doing for them.
