1. i do vaguely remember someone speaking to dallas last year when the rumour that they had soundchecked Mofo was flying around. and dallas said something along the lines of yes they did soundcheck it but they probably won't play it until the next leg.

i swear to god though, if they do play it all will forgiven.

  2. Lot of love for Last Night On Earth, eh? Good song but I'd take Mofo, I WIll Follow, EBTTRT, and Gone.

  3. Yeah, Stuck in a Moment has run its course. Nice acoustic song but they've done better.

i'll take anything that hasn't been played since 97/98 and i mean played properly too - not some half arsed acoustic version or snippet.

but Mofo is definitely at the top of my list - never been more blown away by a song in my entire life than when i heard it back in Leeds in 97. i know i'm probably not going to get to see any shows on this leg but i think if they do play mofo it will hopefully give all these people who have become fans in the last 10 years and missed out on popmart a taste of what they missed.

but my main U2 focus this year is glastonbury - i think if they play mofo (and hopefully other pop/zooropa tracks) there it will take a lot of the haters in the crowd by surprise and show them that U2 dont just play songs like pride beautiful day ISHFWILF one vertigo GOYB etc etc etc etc etc

I missed the Popmart tour, so I too would like to see some stuff from '97/'98.

Do you think they could pull off Lemon? That falsetto might be too much for Bono's 50-year old vocal chords! Like the Zoo tour, it would alternate (I know, it replaced it back then) quite nicely with UV.
  6. i'd like to think he could still pull off lemon vocally... but to me it just somehow wouldn't seem right seeing him singing it in his designer shades and f*cking leather jacket he's been wearing for the last 10 years... that song for me will always be associated with macphisto and zootv when bono's on stage persona and image i actually considered really cool but those days are LONG gone unfortunately....

i'd still rather they played that than most songs though! and your right it would alternate really nicely with UV so actually thinking about it, maybe i take part of what i just said back - he's wearing the lazer jacket at that point which i do actually think looks amazing so yeah - Lemon in that part of the show would work really well!

I also thought HMTMKMKM would alternate rather nicely with UV - or follow it even. I suppose we could consider that a Popmart-era track.

I see what your saying about the continuous playing of certain tracks. Although I love the songs, they could probably get away with playing nothing pre-Joshua Tree.

hmm not so sure about HMTMKMKM alternating w UV.. although it's probably in my top 5 songs i'd love to see brought back i don't think there's any place for it in the encore. the encore for 360 seems like it has to be made up of quite emotional/deep songs and i wouldn't class HMTMKMKM as that. i think it would work quite well near the start of the set as it's a pretty balls out, pumped up song and would get people going and keep the energy up.

must get that ideal/fantasy setlist of mine worked on.... !

I suppose you're right. It might fair better earlier in the set along side EBTTRT (fingers corssed they bring tht one back) or UTEOTW. It could even replace/alternate with Elevation.
  10. i tried to work on my 360 set list but its just too hard! i could easily just write a list of all the songs i want them to play and get rid of all the songs i dont want to hear but i wanted to make it viable and it just got too frustrating trying to keep it realistic!

might try again when i have more time and patience
  11. anything they wrote in the 90s they can play and i will love it..... ANYTHING

  12. You know the two songs I'd like to hear more than Mofo? Miami and The Playboy Mansion. Miami would kill on that stage with lights throbbing from left to right and flashing intermittently and The Playboy Mansion would go perfect in where Stuck In A Moment is - though I'm not so sure it would work as an acoustic track.

So Andrew, you up for Big Girls Are Best or Miami then?
