1. RTSS requires the same type of vocal that's on WOWY. Bono can't do it nowhere

  2. The most taxing part of the song is the actual "Running to stand still" line, and he pulled it off a select few times on the Vertigo Tour. Really fucked it up on the Chicago DVD, but there were some shows where I was like "WOW.". And Edge backing him up on some of the "ha la, la la, le day" parts both saved his ass and sounded glorious. Seeing as how the B-Man sounds even better this tour than he did on Vertigo- though still not as good as previous tours- I don't see why this wouldn't work.

  3. Haha, fair point! What I meant was that the structure of the set won't change. The leftfield choices in my set are songs that I would like to hear within that set structure, but I don't actually expect Acrobat, Discotheque or Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me.

the challenging part for Bono is the lows. He can't sing slow stuff with any low end. Highs he is fine with as we see now and again on WOWY but he just can't do the verses.

Completely agree. He simply can't tune anymore hen singing low tones I'm afraid.
  6. Still he sang Two Shots Of Happy a lot better then WOWY last year.

I still think he can sing it like he did during Popmart and Elevation. And those WOWY performances are the ones i liked the most.

There are even moments during the song that i think: 'He is back!' but a few seconds later he does the most terrible notes

True...but for some reason (and I usually HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE this), when Bono sang "...woke up from where she was, lying still", on the Chicago DVD, he sort of just spoke the "lying still" part and trailed it off instead of singing it. I hate it when he does that to lines that he can't sing- just talks them instead- but there was a certain sort of desperation in that delivery of that line that suited that song PERFECTLY for me.

Not saying that he would be wise enough to continue that/consistently feel that exact same emotion every single time, but I just thought I'd throw my two cents in about Vertigo's RTSS.

Only like the Twickenham version that was broadcast from that tour. The guitar didn't help much either

  9. In the middle of a show right now, but I have the Twick bootleg, I'll have to re-listen to that performance later.

Back on topic, but still relevant to this conversation- Is "Exit" too low for him to sing? What if they took it up a step? (GASP!)

Exit has been retired. No chance it would work if they took a step up. Streets, I Still Haven't Found and even One Tree Hill are ok when Bono takes it up but no other songs would work. Bullet only started to tire because Bono had no power in his voice

So, if ZooTV was the "comeback material" of the Vertigo Tour, whether or not the songs were specific to Achtung, PopMart should be the comeback of 360. And not just Pop material...POPMART material.

-All I Want is You (PopMart styled)
-Even Better Than the Real Thing
    -Pop stuff

God I hope you are right. I want those two songs and ANYTHING from Pop!
  12. mmm I would really like seeing some Pop stuff coming back, but I don't think they would nail it, I don't think they're on the mood to make any Pop song sound good...
I can see them making some nice Achtung Baby / Zooropa return, though. I can easily imagine a full electric Wild Horses, a regular Stay (even with Adam and Larry participating!!) and maybe some nice So Cruel or The First Time additions to the acoustic set.
