  1. Was pretty sure i'd made this topic before but I can't find it. Idea is too pick out your best series of U2 gigs at a particular venue (Pint Depot etc). Looking at places that have had 3 or more shows at the same venue over a few nights (2 can be acceptable).

    I have to go with the Rotterdam 93 gigs. The openers of Zooropa. Band just back from a break, great mood, great audiences, great bootlegs plus the newly created Macphisto. What about you lot?

  3. I think this topic has to be one of those like, "Well, yeah, I mean, duh, the Point...but OTHER than that". It's like when someone asks you who your favorite band is, and you're like "Well I mean, it's clearly U2, but if I were digging around other than that?"

    Obviously you're right, Sergio, but here were some of my other favorites-

    -Vertigo's residency in Chicago, both American legs.
    -Elevation New York, right after 9/11
    -Does 360° Barcelona count?
    -Lovetown Sydney were some amaaaazing shows.

    The "residency" in Chicago for Vertigo's first leg was cool because there were so many shows, but the two-nighter on the third leg, 9/20-9/21 were probably much better shows. I just don't know if that qualifies as a "residency" because two nights in a city isn't exactly rare in their history.

    The greatest band in the world play at the home of the greatest football team in the world!

    8th August show voted best UK gig of 1993 and is regularly considered on of the best concerts ever hosted in Britain.

    I agree with near all of that but that's a big claim after the season Celtic just had.

    Regardless of how the team did that year, I'll be checking these shows out. Thanks for the post/recommendation; I don't know anything about these.

    I'll probably start with the second night and see how I like it...it's Edge's birthday

    If memory serves, Bono gets Edge to sing Lost Highway - quite amusing stuff!
