and i think the best thing U2 could do at glasto IS play some of their more obscure 90's stuff - the haters and doubters will be expecting to hear the songs they already dislike U2 for (songs that they have heard on the radio/seen on the tv in the last 10 or so years) - if they pull out some of their more interesting, daring, obscure stuff it will take all the doubters, haters and casuals by surprise and show them there is a different side to the band. obviously i'm not saying they should play a whole set of obscure album tracks and bsides and stuff from passengers but i think the should seriously consider throwing in 2 or 3 curveballs...

i remember back in 97 when they played that amazing version of Mofo at the mtv awards in rotterdam thinking i wonder how many people in that non U2 crowd expected to hear something like that!?! i feel the same about glastonbury.

even if they play some of their more well known but forgotten stuff like HMTMKMKM i think it will still make people think "oh yeah i totally forgot about this song! i actually liked this song"...

i think the worst thing they could do is play a predictable setlist but unfortunately i fear this is what will happen...

  4. This poster is saying footage will be on screen not different group on stage i think. Achtung Baby and Joshua tree are my best time and favourite album for U2 .I like older music.I do not think there are so many fans for this new album on the horizon. I think fans can be happy to see U2 and not be upset at what songs they perform
  5. Either they will rock like hell or they'll fail epicly. And under failure I'm mean playing classics they play on every concert.

Bring on Last Night On Earth, Dirty Day, Miami, Mofo, Even Better Than The Real Thing, The Fly, Discotheque...

Agree and disagree at the same time. They should do a mix of both things, playing some of the best classics and bringing something different or unusual.
  7. Acrobat with Bono climbing the stage..could be their very last concert then..

I will really be pissed if they play a bunch of those but decide not to play them on the 'regular' tour

  9. Before he even starts the first line he'd be getting up there and falling off. So in a way, it'd kinda suck for the Glasto crowd and for those hoping to hear Acrobat for the first time. I'm still curious as to why Womanfish isn't discussed as a possibility - you all wanna hear Acrobat, I wanna hear Womanfish.
