PopMart Miami and 360° Dublin (27th) will also be in the top 5. Still looking for a few other contenders if anyone's interested in making a recommendation. Still heavily considering 2001-08-19: London...been awhile since I've had a stellar Elevation listen.

Well, that Earl's Court show is not preciselly "stellar" haha

Good to hear about Rotterdam, it really deserves being your 100th show; even I was the guy who recommended you to listen 1997-11-14 Miami, I dont think it matches your criteria of history+quality reasons

Well looking at my log, I've sort of got most of the landmarks covered, IMO...That Dublin Lovetown you recommended, ZooTV/PopMart/Vertigo opening nights, Rosemont's "Rock's Hottest Ticket' Joshua Tree show, along with JT Brussels...there's nothing that really JUMPS out at me.

And I read a good review of the Elevation show from somewhere- I can't remember where, now- and it's also been mentioned in this thread, so I'll have a go at it. I LOVE the Elevation Tour, so if anyone has a better show to give me a point in the right direction, I'll gladly take it......
  3. haha, you misunderstood me... I just tried to say that the 08-19 show is not special enough to be considered a landmark or a stellar show. But it's just my opinion, of course! Some people hates what I love, and viceversa

What did you make out of the 1989-12-30 Dublin? Did you write a review?
(slightly off topic but who cares, its your topic hahaha )

EDIT: Nevermind, I've read your review. Nice!!! Did you really like it that much? Niiiice

Yeah, I actually loved the show...one of those that grabbed me right away, and truly never let go until the end. I can't remember if I threw it in my top 10 or not...I might have. If not, I'm pretty sure it was my immediate #11.

And this topic can be for whatever-related to bootlegs and opinions, as far as I'm concerned

Las Vegas, Nov. 18th and Miami Dec. 2nd would be good picks for Elevation. Actually the 3rd leg of the tour is the only one worth listening...

Apart from that, 1982-12-14, Copenhagen is worth getting. Audio is decent only, but the performance is great. A Violin used in SBS and Into the heart... and Adam hiding behind his amp when fans get on stage for 11 o'clock.

Thanks for the rec's, yeah...I'll be checking those out for sure. And the Cophenhagen gig will probably make the cut by default, as I'm sort of looking for a wide representation, and I don't have a lot of early gigs as it is.

    Thanks!

YW. Actually all December 1982 gigs are good picks. Hammersmith Palais is widely known, Glasgow and Manchester are other gems (both soundboards).
  8. Thread is getting more interesting every post

Will check the 1982 boots out myself when i have time. Barely have any < 90's U2. Listened to 1997 Barcelona the other day, maybe one for Matt's list when he's past the 100 Its one of the better AUD boots from the tour.

hahaha, that show wasn't / isn't much appreciated among the Barcelona audience...

Absolutely. The Glasgow one features the only almost-complete NYD I ever heard. It contains the "Oh maybe the time is right - Oh maybe tonight" verse, and it probably contained the "So we're told this is the golden age......" verses, but unfortunately the recording cuts earlier

My U2 doesn't stretch far beyond the Joshua Tree Tour, so earlier gigs are usually something very different for me.

I'll keep that PopMart show in mind, Chris, thanks for the mention.

I'm listening to 1983-02-26: Dundee right now (almost certain that's the correct date, though it's not in front of me)...been a great listen so far, very much enjoying it. Great energetic performances of "A Day Without Me" and "Out of Control"; "New Years Day" is fresh too. Will post a full review when the show's over, but if anyone's looking for earlier stuff, this one's a great find.
