    Both "Otherside" and "Californication" are perfect examples to me- moreso "Otherside"- of how Frusciante can use a guitar solo to not really SHRED on the guitar, but play minimally and really just add a lot to an already great song. Much like The Edge

    I prefer "Power of Equality", "If You Have to Ask", "Cant Stop", "Funky Monks" and "Breaking the Girl". They are some brilliant masterpieces that RHCP have made over the years.

    It was scary seeing Frusicante on drugs after he left RHCP. I saw an interview from 1994 and every question he answered made no sense and was completely irrelevant to the question. His guitar skills started fading dramatically. His singing was terrible. I think for the people who love his guitar playing should go and research him. Also, he took his 1997 album off the market because it was so poor and he didn't actually know what he was doing at the time because of the drugs. I listened to 2 tracks from the album on YouTube (because I couldn't find it anywhere else) and had to put it off. It was terrible. The guitar playing was awful and the singing was just disgusting. I'm glad he survived from the drugs.

    I'm listening to Higher Ground by RHCP. Great funky guitar playing by Frusicante.

    Power of Equality is my favorite song by them of all time, and BSSM is hands down my favorite album of theirs; on my top 5 albums of all time. I just really like the effect the solos in those other 2 songs I mentioned have

    It's a great show overall, full of energy and good performances. And of course my song makes it worth it

    The third one was more Desmond Child songs and more nu-metal rather than just straight rock, not as many Steinman songs so that's why a lot of them were a bit of nothingness. Desmond Child is writing for Katy Perry by the way (but Alice Cooper back in the late 80s and early 90s) so that explains that - but this one is definitely something nicer.

    So yeah, I'd recommend it after hesitating myself - it has songs written by Jon Bon Jovi and Hugh Laurie and Jack Black are on some of the tracks.
