If God Will Send His Angels could slide in there i agree since they did soundcheck it in rehearsals. I don't see any way they drop With or Without You though
  2. when do soundchecks start?

  3. a week before the show? maybe less. i'm guessing from the lack of '360 tour hits salt lake city' thread that there's no stage construction type action going on yet?
  4. The more I listen to it, the more I fall in love with it, and the more I realize that Last Night On Earth NEEDS to be brought back. The way they did it during PopMart is great with the break in the middle.

How about: Even Better Than The Real Thing, Last Night On Earth, Unknown Caller?

  5. yeah they HAVE to play it, it's such a forgotten gem (well forgotten by the band anyway!) - i was listening to Leeds 97 the other day and it blew my head off! specially the outro where bono charged down to the b-stage, jumped onto the rail and let the crowd hit his guitar strings... amazing!

not sure if it would work going into a quiet song like unknown caller... i think if they played it like they did on popmart with the massive outro it should go into another powerful song to keep the energy up.

so although i'm not a fan of it, i think it would work well going into vertigo - or even better have it going into end of the world again! always thought those two songs went SO perfectly together

totally agree, although Mexico 97 was the best performance of that song and UTEOTW wasn't that good on Popmart as it was/is on 360

UTEOTW was good on Popmart. The first 6 songs to Popmart Mexico were electric. Great energy.

I think Even Better Than The Real Thing and Last Night on Earth are two songs which really need to return. Discotheque and Gone have a little chance of coming back.

despite my constant pleas for pop material i will be slightly disappointed if it's gone and/or discotheque! that would be just typical of the band to bring back the only two songs they have played in full since 97 (i dont really count please and wake up dead man as they were only played acoustically)

if they're gona bring back pop material i would much rather it be something that has never been played since 97 like mofo, last night on earth, staring at the sun or a full band version of please

what i want possibly more than pop material though is something off zooropa that hasn't been played since 93 - numb, lemon or dirty day - probably less chance of that happening than anything else though!

Wake Up Dead Man has never been played acoustically, certainly not at Slane or Boston.

They played Staring at the Sun acoustically in Elevation Tour. As much as I want Mofo to be played on 360, I just don't think it would fit that well

I agree with the more Zooropa stuff. They've only played 2 Zooropa songs since 1993 - Stay and The First Time. I want Dirty Day to be in 360 as well. It seems the best fitting song for it. Not Numb but maybe Lemon, although I don't think Bono would be up to it.

haha ok well i meant it was played only with an electric guitar and vocal rather than acoustic guitar and vocal and rather than full band which has never happened (yet) - maybe i should have said 'semi acoustic'?

and i forgot about staring at the sun but once again - only played acoustically so doesn't really count for me. they should play that as full band but work out how to do it properly this time! seemed a bit of waste when they gave up on it in 97 cos its a great song

and sorry but i TOTALLY disagree that mofo wouldn't fit - i think it would fit amazingly! maybe if they played it after the crazy tonight remix? i think numb would work nicely too personally.. dont know why but i can just picture it working with that stage.. maybe if it started with total darkness and just a spotlight on the edge and then built up through the song til all the lights and screen are going mental then cuts to complete blackness when the song ends..

dirty day would be probably right at the top of my wish list - maybe joint top or a close second with mofo. agree with the fact bono probably wouldnt be up to it though..

I think Staring at the Sun sounds perfect acoustically. It would be intresting if they had another go at the full band version. And Wake Up Dead Man full band, no. It isn't actually that good a song. I feel it didn't exactly fit that well on Pop. Would have done on Zooropa.

I'll rephrase that actually - I don't think Mofo would fit perfectly. It might fit but not perfectly. I don't think Numb would at all. It's quite a dark song. I can't imagine at all Numb being played on 360.

As you said earlier, a band version of Please would be lovely. I agree.

I wouldn't mind Tryin To Throw Your Arms Around The World back for the first time since 1993. Depends if it goes well with the Claw...

i agree SATS does translate very well to acoustic but i guess i just want them to do the song full justice which they never have.

and as for wake up dead man - you had to be there back in late 96 early 97 at the time when everyone was freaking out thinking the next U2 album would be pure techno pop and disco and then when you bought it and listened to it for the first time it seemed the rumours were true with the first 3 songs but then it just got weirder and more unexpected and finally ended so bleakly with please and wake up dead man! oh how i miss the days when a new U2 album would f*ck with your head that much! thats the reason why i loved U2 so much back then.... sob

and as for numb being a dark song - i think thats just what this tour needs! a bit of darkness! quite funny how you can say numb is too dark for 360 but dirty day would be great!??! dirty day is possibly the darkest U2 song of ALL time! (which is why i love it - the lyrics are pure poison!) and i loved it on ZOOTV when the show went through different stages of light and dark (dirty day being the darkest point) 360 needs a bit of that in my humble opinion...

and arms around the world would prob work quite well with the catwalk and bridges
