I haven't seen the Leeds concert but from what I've heard from other fans and after listening to it myself through various Bootlegs, it sounds like one of the best performances from U2 from that tour. Bono's voice is great, the band is playing brilliantly and the spontaneity between Bono and the audience is brilliant between and during songs. The band was on fire that night.
  2. Mexico imo. Every other show I heard is not as good in my opinion, don't know why actually. Second would be Santiago, and third Sarajevo. Listened to Leeds a few times ago, I did not feel it that good, I should listen to it again.
  3. Leeds is best but Mexico last longer. Other musthaves: Sarajevo, Santiago, Rotterdam.

  4. personally the mexico show doesn't really interest me at all.. i think thats because in the time between receiving the VHS the day it came out and discovering the world of downloading bootlegs 8 or so years later i must have seen and heard that show hundreds and hundreds of times and watched it to death. don't get me wrong it's obviously a great show but i guess i'd rather spend my time investigating all the shows i'd never heard (or only ever heard once in the case of Leeds!)

    I wasn't too keen on Mexico. That was when I watched it on VHS. But when I got it on DVD, I thought it was brilliant. Because it had remastered sound and video, it's great. Best popmart show imo.

    notice you were also at one of the same elevation earls court shows as me too! (didn't come close to popmart for me tho)

    and you were at the roundhay zootv gig! (jealous) what are your memories of that? i recently downloaded the bootleg and it did sound like a great show. also during the popmart gig bono says the Leeds date was the best show of the last tour.

    the fact that the zoo and popmart gigs were considered so good makes me quite surprised they've never been back to Leeds...

    well it was always going to have the most effort put into it by the band as they knew it was being filmed for the official tour video. thats why i like shows like Leeds more - they were technically just another gig for the band but for some reason they still put on an equally good show as any special occasion

    the thing i've never liked about the film though is that strange misty/hazy/soft focus quality it has about it. i remember being a bit disappointed because up until it was released my only popmart video was the 4 song rotterdam thing i taped off the tv which was really sharp and i expected the mexico show to look the same.
  8. i've uploaded the best of the PopMart Leeds photos i took - the night shots aren't too great as it wasn't an expensive camera (even back then!) and i seem to recall not being able to stop the flash going off. go to my profile to see them all in the same place as i added a few last year too.

    i've also got a very large collection of Leeds prints i bought from a professional photographer which are all amazing - i will scan and upload them too one day!
