  1. I drove past the stadium today and the parking lot now has temporary chain link fences set up to enclose the trucks that will bring the stage. I'll post here as I see more developments.

    Yeah, it's not te Camp Nou or the Soldier Field, but hey, we the spanish say "if the product's good, I don't mind the envelope"... which, in this case, translates as: if the music's good, I don't mind how ugly is the stadium!!

  10. Don't hate on the stadium guys. Keep in mind this is a college campus stadium (not a professional sports stadium), so the budget is not as high. Further, the south endzone is open as an aesthetic feature to allow a great view of the enormous mountains against which the stadium sits (the picture above was taken from the wrong angle to show the mountains). Here is a better view of the mountains from my seats at the football (american, of course) game (my amature camera doesn't properly capture the grandeur of the mountains):

    Ok, ENOUGH ABOUT THE STADIUM ITSELF



    Stadium critiques aside, I drove past the stadium today again and am happy to report the first truck with equipment has showed up:



    This truck brought some big cement blocks .... looks like they will act as some sort of anchor. I talked to the driver of the truck and he said the setup is scheduled to begin tomorrow (Monday).


    I'm starting a new job tomorrow, but I'll try to swing by the stadium and take some more pictures after work ... about 6 pm local time, and post them by about 7 pm local time. If I can get out of work early, I'll try to post sooner to help out all the fans in earlier time zones.

  12. I don't know who/what "punters" are. About 30% of college athletic programs in the States prohibit alcohol at athletic events. Utah is a very conservative State and the state legislature has banned alcohol at Rice Eccles Stadium .... however, most people know how to sneak some in
