Why I Have Written "U2 tour in Moscow is WRONG?"

    Please, read carefully...

Who's U2's leader? Bono... "Today, Bono, the U2 singer, global activist and one of the most powerful leaders on the world stage,"

The Truth About Kremlin (Putin and Medvedev). "As he prepares to step down from the Russian presidency in early May, Vladimir Putin has been boasting about his accomplishments. In a speech to the State Council on February 8, he talked of the stability that his government had established, thanks to which “people once more have confidence that life will continue to change for the better.” A few days later, during the last of his long annual press conferences as president of the Russian Federation, Putin said: “I have worked like a galley slave throughout these eight years, morning till night, and I have given all I could to this work. I am happy with the results.” By NYREV, Inc.

  2. That's what I'm wondering, too. Couldn't find an answer in your post.
  3. ???
  4. Dont understand these posts.

Why shouldnt Russians have the possibility to listen to high quality (O-) ) music ? That is the thing U2 concerts are primarily about. Let Bono do his other activities when the tour is over
  5. Bono is Bono, U2 is U2. Bono is about politics and activism, etc...U2 is about music, entertainment and having fun.
You are kind of getting these two thing mixed up.
Plus, if russian people are in a situation as bad as you say, they shouldn't be deprived of watching a good show.
  6. Plus, there is still such a thing as free will, and if somebody feels as strongly about this as you do, they can choose no to attend. As for the others, they finally got the opportunity to see this great band, lucky them!

I second that. don't mix things up that have nothing in common.

I say to Bono, please return your awards!

  9. Ah. Now I get it. U2 shouldn't play in Russia because Bono got the liberty medal in spite of his hypocrisy.
    Yeah, makes perfect sense.

I am more interested in your words and reasoning than all those random quotes and sources you post.

Also it is quite sad that Bono's activism should limit the band from performing for their fans. Hardly fair to expect their Russian fans to visit them outside of their country.
  11. Get over it.

I vote to close this one. Who's with me?
  12. I'm not ;-)
