And yeah, I agree with Gerard, there are plenty of tickets being sold (for face value, sometimes more or even less) outside the stadium on the day of the concert. I slept at Barcelona's queue and there were about 30 people with cardboards saying "I SELL TICKET" and so. And a friend of mine travelled to Dublin with only ONE ticket on the pocket...... and ended seeing the THREE shows. You just have to look and seek, you'll find the tickets for sure

I certainly saw tickets at face value or less last year at Paris, Dublin and Barcelona. In fact Paris always seems to have cheap U2 tickets available judging from my experience over the last 13 years.

Amsterdam in 2005 was hard wwork to get a ticket on the second and third nights, after waiting around looking for three hours before show time, nothing less than 150 euro was available outside.

I am going to Brussels night 1 without tickets at the moment in the hope of getting some or trading my spares.

wanna hear my little experience? I flew to Dublin last summer and had a spare GA ticket for Friday July 24. Someone from this forum here had promised to buy it off me for face value when we'd meet at Croke Park. The moment I landed in Dublin I told her I was there and therefor her ticket as well, all was good. She called me right away, telling me she had already bought someone else's ticket at the stadium in the morning, thank you. So I had this spare U2 ticket -- and f***ing hell, I spent all day walking through Dublin, around Croker and all, trying to get that U2 ticket off me. Everyone had their tickets. Some scalpers offered 20 bucks for the ticket and I refused. In the end, already on my way to Croke around 5pm, I stopped a fellow on the street, a nice guy from Holland. he was a U2 fan and had a ticket for Saturday night. I offered him the Friday ticket for free, because otherwise I would have had to throw it away. A U2 ticket. In Dublin

. It came to a nice end after all, as I made a new friend happy - but this shows you there are always tickets available at the stadium. Just avoid the scalpers. Well, ask them if you're desperate. But one way or the other, you will always get tickets in front of the venue

I had an unsold GA for Dublin 1. Was meant for Macphistfly but stupidly didn't get his number. He got sorted though thankfully. Still have the ticket. . .

Piece of history in a few years. An un-used GA ticket for ther show in Dublin bla bla. People will even pay for it on eBay

wow all your comments have more or less convinced me to make a trip into europe this summer! just have to convince my friend when i see him next friday now!

i had no idea it was so easy to acquire tickets for face value outside the venue ! my only experience of a simillar situation was at reading festival 2005 - i only really went to see the pixies but decided to get a weekend wristband from a tout. paid £180, got into the campsite, set up our tents, then the next day tried to get into the arena only to have my wristband ripped off my wrist by security as it was a fake.....

in the end had to pay another £100 to another tout but he was selling backstage wristbands! so got in JUST in time to see the pixies and had excellent backstage facilities all weekend so it wasn't ALL bad! mind you i was considerably richer back then than i am now so if it had happened now i would've been screwed...

you know, looking back now, it all fits into those perfect 48 hours - because of that ticket thing I made a new friend and spent a great time during the concert with him. Dennis from Rotterdam

but that day it was nerve-wrecking to find nobody who wanted the ticket. I had asked a guy before who was playing U2 covers on his guitar in Temple Bar. He didn't have time for the gig as he had to work that night lol at some point it really had me laughing out loud because it seemed unreal to be stuck like that with a U2 ticket

back on topic for good.... only concert that is certain for me right now is Munich -- all others put in question due to work and money. Planned are/were Frankfurt, Hannover, Zurich I&II, Munich, Brussels I&II and Rome. Real life can be a b*tch. But I'm not complaining after 7 shows + Berlin last summer

after all, its not in the mind, its in the moment ...
we think we can plan our lives, untill we learn to let go ...

and actually acccommodation wise, sleeping at the airport, or on a piece of cardboard inside the stadium (like `I did last year in dublin in between gig 1 and 2 ... ) while I had an unused comfortable hotelbed (paid and all) .. especially all the unplanned stuff ... it has given me memories I will never forget ! I still remember the amazing stories from the security guys in dublin, the background of hill 18 (which was later food for bono and the rain .... )

for me, I try to plan some extra days in town when seeing U2 play abroad ... being in town early (in milan and barca etc) gives you amazing atmosphere ... you might see lonesome wandering souls close to the stadium, with or without U2shirt on .... some prefer to be there incognito ... ha ha ....
but often I have met people outside the stadiums, that are there to investigate how the line will be formed and where ... they are not there waving their spare ticket, but they would happen to have one ... or know someone that needs to sell his or her ticket ...
dont be afraid to work the line .... and often, this line forms days before the gig starts ...
simply go to the front of the line and say: sorry, but anyone still have a spare ticket .. ? chances are 9 out of 10 you get sorted .. or have your cardboard sign visible and in the air .... I know it makes you a center of attention, but after all .. you DO want that ticket ???

last year I could easily have bought a ticket on the day .. in barca - milan - nice - amsterdam - dublin - and london the only harder one was cardiff as it was the final european show .... and I did not even look for a ticket, as I already had all my tickets trough swaps etc ... (incl a swap for barca 2 with the girl that carried bono on stage in barcelona .. another great memorie .. she stood right in front of me, as she was lifted up .. party girl .. )

this year I allready got all of my tickets sorted, apart from one uncertain visit to paris ..
so much looking forward to amazing weeks all over europe ...

I remember that. I met him at the merchandise stand inside (thanks to wearing the u2start shirt

good bloody times. I'm gonna see how they do at Glastonbury before I even allow myself to consider any plans. And if I do I will definitely limit myself to 1 show.
