1. This is a set of 16 Anton Corbijn posters printed on glossy, thick poster paper. Each print measures 12" x 12" and shows a different image from the "Achtung Baby" sleeve. The photo above shows the 16 prints laid out in a square. These promo only posters accompanied the original 1991 LP release in New Zealand. They were only available at select record stores that opened at midnight to sell the album. Very hard to come by especially in this condition. This set has been stored flat in a plastic bag for more than a decade. A must for fans - don't miss out.

this is what i found ...
  2. I guess that info comes from an ebay auction where someone is trying to get as much money as possible... Whatever... the info is not correct. It's not that rare as the posters also were given with the german CD Digipack.
  3. At the time I got them from a record/cd store, here in Holland. Seems they were part of their promotional items, used at the launch of the album. Don't remember you could get them with a purchase, always thought they were just promotional posters (for in store use). I had several sets of them and used them for decoration. Don't remember if thet were numbered, but don't think so

Speaking of promotional items at that time, there was more. A booklet or leaflet, which you could fold out I think, with several anton corbijn photo's. And several carton displays, which did show the previous albums and the new cd/lp/casette Achtung Baby.

Are there any pics for this set you mention? And do they have the numbered feature as mine have in the bottom right corner of the images?

    Thanks for the postings.
  6. Here's some more info I found on a set that seems just the same as mine:

    Sold Date: 02/26/2008
    Channel: Online Auction
    Source: eBay

Super Rare Full Set Of All 16 Poster Flats Promoting The Release Of U2's Achtung Baby In 1991!
These flats feature the stunning photography of Anton Corbijn and are 12" X 12" versions of the 16 images from the front cover. 6 are in sepia-toned black and white and the other 10 are in bright colors. Each flat has a number in the lower right hand corner which signifies it's position on the front cover of Achtung Baby...# 1/16 through # 16/16 . This auction includes one of each flat in like new condition with no tears, holes or tape maks. I have never seen the entire set for sale together, as these were used in record stores to create displays for the release back in 1991 and most were damaged or lost. As a U2 fan, you have the chance to own all of these rare poster flats by winning one auction. They are beautiful to look at and would look fantastic individually framed or in a large 4' X 4' collage.
  7. Looks nice, which digipack they came with?
    12" is quite some size

  8. The german digipack from achtung baby .... i believe
    that's what i read above ....
i also have the digipack ...

i will take some pictures ...later this week
  10. I have a similar set except they dont have any numbering or any other text on them and the backs are blank. They're also just normal glossy paper thickness.

Are mine the ones that were given out with copies of the AB album?

  12. Hi,

I have the poster collection as well.... Searched for it for years and now sixteen pictures in framed, custom made lists are hanging on my wall...
My love for this record is showed to everyone who visits my place!

Achtung Baby is the number one record for me after all those years. Becoming a fan in 1992 at the age of eleven, this record was never beaten from the number one position of my record collection.
