1. Thought it might be worth a topic on it's own.

Speaking at the LMU University Hospital in Munich, Paul McGuinness has confirmed the postponement of 16 shows on the U2360° Tour from Salt Lake City on June 3rd, through to New Jersey's Meadowlands Stadium on July 19th. Tour Promoters Live Nation are now rescheduling those dates.

Paul McGuinness said, 'Our biggest and I believe best tour has been interrupted and we're all devastated. For a performer who lives to be on stage, this is more than a blow. He feels robbed of the chance to do what he does best and feels like he has badly let down the band and their audience. Which is of course nonsense. His concerns about more than a million ticket buyers whose plans have been turned upside down, we all share, but the most important thing right now is that Bono make a full recovery. We're working as fast as we can with Live Nation to reschedule these dates.'
  2. As expected somehow. Hope they succeed in rescheduling. Glasto will be postponed even so, I assume.
  3. Ouch. Might make it easier to reschedule
  4. Rescheduling in 2011

U2 tour producer/promoter Arthur Fogel, CEO of Live Nation Global Touring, said, 'Although we understand the disappointment to U2 fans, first and foremost comes the recovery of Bono.'

Additional details on rescheduled dates will follow shortly and fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets. We'll have all the information as soon as it's confirmed on U2.com
  5. I assume the new dates will follow the Europe shows, otherwise they would have to postpone 2 legs.
  6. Might give a new hope for South America in 2011, too.
  7. Yeh that probably puts the likelihood of a 5th leg up. It's good to have some news anyway

  8. I don't know what exactly you meant, but I don't think U2 will play US stadiums in winter. But somehow I don't have a good feeling for this summer European shows, either. 8 weeks of slow, gradual recovery puts us somewhere at the end of July. The first European show is scheduled for the 6th of August. Will Bono then be able to walk or will he be in the right condition to run and sing for 2 hours a night? I feel U2 crew won't have to mount that steering wheel mic ...
  9. The NA leg to be rescheduled in 2011
EDIT: I should really start reading

  10. I hope so, and the chances of listening to something new in 2011 are bigger, in my opinion. I also assume that they're going to play in N. America just in 2011, not in 2010 like Remy thinks...but let's wait.

About the European tour, does they gonna have some "practice" time before it starts? Anyway, I think they will start playing in a "slowly way"...

    Greetings from Brazil

  11. This is not the news I was looking forward to hearing today. I'm pretty devastated of course. Hopefully he gets better soon, and maybe we can get a new album before 2011? My Mom is worried we can't cancel our flights and hotel so I might be going to TO anyhow?
