1. Yeah well then you're all in the wrong topic.
This is "Discussion on DVD release"
So imo, if you start bashing, that's bashing about the dvd. Which you don't own yet.

fair enough but the DVD is just an alternative angle on what we have already seen and heard.

Is the audio actually from the Rose Bowl????? Would explain the stock crowd shots.... Plus dropping it from the main show....

Well spoted it can't be the rosebowl. unless they edited that fraction of the song how vain
  4. Target has it on the shelves as of Tuesday, so I went ahead and picked it up.
First off, the show looks amazing. Those who bash the Dvd I think have forgotten how bad, dark and lifeless the Chicago Vertigo Dvd looked. The intro space scene looks great and is a cool idea. Yes its weird being to 5 shows last year for them to not openwith "Breathe ", but I think they must of had issues for it not to. Plus I believe they now know Get on Your Boots isnt as bad of a song , snd live it is quite entertaining. Overall Bono is strained voice is noticeable but still stronger then the last two tours. Its sad they didnt record a Europe show cuz those boots he sounds so good. The first thing I noticed was the sound was much more distinct of a mix for all members. The bass is clear and not muddy. You can hear the drum parts and alot more overall claity. I do have Blue Ray with a $2000 surround sound system but this blows the other U2 Dvd's away. My only complaints are not enough shots of the Claw. When we do get them they are beautiful. Would love to have a special feature where you could watch the whole song with just helicopter and distant shots on songs like City, or U.F.
I am happy with the Dvd for what it is, a one night roll the dice hope it all goes well shoot. They should have lined up back to back night shoot but Im sure that was not possible. they have always got that in the past and the second night was always used I believe. Lets hope they record another show.
Highlights for me, Unf Fire(Bono sings second chorus correct, "home again "finally) Vertigo, Uv. LIght, Until the end, No LIne. I
It will get me thru until I see them in New York next year.

  5. Been posted before?
  6. the audio rip from the dvd sounds good to me, will prob get the blu-ray

  7. Does look pretty good, makes me tempted but it is a hell of a lot of money. Only things in there that I couldn't possibly get (unless they were sold on ebay) if I didn't purchase the super duper deluxe version is the hardback book, the prints and the plectrums.

    £99.99 on Play.com

Will probably get it at a fraction of that price in a few months.

EDIT: £93.69 on Amazon with free delivery. Wish it was 1GBP to 2USD like it was when I bought the Boy/October/War from amazon US for £50 My only U2 item splashed with FBI warnings lol.

The exchange rate is a bit better now. So good news there.

  10. Well, it's $93.99 on Amazon.com, which come out at around £65 over here. Which is excellent. $6.48 shipping to UK, which put's it up to nearly £70. Still save £30 but I'll probably have to pay a surcharge when it hit's UK, like I did on my remasters, which was around £12.50 if I remember correctly.

So Super deluxe from US would be around £80 give or take a pound or two. Still pretty good.

EDIT: I'm guessing regions may be a problem when playing the DVD back though? The remasters were just audio CD's. UK version is listed as region free, so I'm assuming US version may be the same way...

Meh, I'm gonna get the Blu-ray version and see what christmas sales throw up for the super deluxe.

So if it's $93 on Amazon and 65 pounds for UK (that's about $114 Australian), how come in Australia they want to charge us another $70 - $120 on top?
