Yeah, mine is in NTSC as well. I got really worried and thought it wouldn't work but it did. I thought I might had to send it back
  6. I find it very odd, why are HMV sending us NTSC copies instead of Pal format.

I watched the Blu ray earlier and had my amp well turned up, the sound is fantastic
  7. I got my Super Deluxe Edition boxset yesterday.....here's my review (if anyone is interested):

I opened the box and immidiately thought "ok, this is something special".
The whole packaging is amazing, and I love the included poster of the stage-drawing and sketches.
I listened to the 7 inch vinyl straight away and to hear that intro (Soon) in full quality is just amazing!
I love this song! Can't imagine it not being on a regular U2 album.
This box really is a hystorical document of the 360 tour and really completes my personal collection of the tour (including all the stuff I've got from the shows I visited).
Bye the way, the included tourbook is, ofcourse, the USA tourbook....and that's great because I had the european one.

But now, the most important thing:

I popped the blu-ray disc in the player and started watching......a....euhm....what felt like a pixar movie. The start of the movie is both exciting, unneccessary and strange. I think they made it work, but I'd rather watch the band a minute before they get on stage, like the youtube broadcast. How they have eventually shifted from the spaceship to the Rose Bowl is actually pretty cool, but still.....

For the fist few songs I was liking the blu-ray experiene more then the actual performance.....I mean, it's, as usual, a very good performance but Bono's voice wasn't solid, well, at least for the first part. Then, after a number of songs MLK is played and Bono's voice seems to be getting back on track...That song felt magical and I wish he would have sung the whole thing again...

Then, 75% through the show, I was realy into it already, came Amazing Grace.....Perfectly filmed and the pure volume of Bono's voice echo's through my appartment...Then, you clearly here the synths for Streets coming in...and I feel like I'm actually there, I get goosebumps and want to stand up from my couch.
Bono screams during the intro, not as emotional as he did at the Slane concert in 2001, but again, it releases some sort of energy.
Streets truely blew me away, the filming is great and the shot at the end, with Bono on a set of speakers, or boxes, behind larry....WOW!

The encore is a joy to watch and the ending of Moment of Surrender is magical. All four band members are shown in a overlay-shot, Edge and Larry singing and Bono reciting a text. For me, a great few seconds to watch and feel the emotions and energy that this group of people really have.

Moment of Surrender ends, and suddenly, I'm back in the pixar movie......nicely done, but the departure of the band should have been shown far more lengthy....

Overall, comment it all you want, yes, the band wasn't in top form, yes, Bono's voice was strained...even so, there's still something magical in there.

This DVD, or blu-ray or superdeluxe box gives you a peace of rock&roll touring history....

  8. Good review, Mike, good to hear you liked it that much

By the way, everyone is raging about the Amazing Grace > Streets connection but I didn't feel it was that epic, I don't know if Amazing Grace doesn't touch me that much or whatever, but I didn't feel it was the awesome moment everyone says it is. Let's wait to watch it instead of just hearing it, though.
  9. It's official- I have a new favorite version EVER of Ultraviolet.

And it has nothing to do with the visuals. This is based on the rip. Bono's "Ultra-vi-o-lu-ut!" variation at 2:57 and 4:22 (if you have the rip, or if not..it's the last melodic line of the Ultraviolet chorus, where he breaks it up and takes it down a scale)...is seriously 85% of the reason, too. This is just passionate, well sung, the 360 changes/improvements shine, and it sounds GRAND.

    I am in love.

That slip case is sexy. I love cardboard slips over my blu-rays, makes them look cooler
  11. I didn't like the version of Ultraviolet myself. Bono was okay but it's Edge's guitar that annoys me. There's almost a wah wah effect going on in some parts. Listen to 'there is a silence' and 'I Remember'. Just an odd effect that seems to be more prominent on this release.
  12. I know its early but any word on an easter egg on the deluxe set . They always hide something extra for us ???? I watched all the bonus stuff today . Not bad at all .

Bono's mistake at the start of breathe has been fixed ????
