1. I don't know, I think Bono's voice is better and the songs are better on Zoo TV but there's something about PopMart, something you can't put into words, something pure class...

I know Zoo TV took balls as everyone expected them to be a rock/countryish band.

PopMart took things to a whole new level and had the most balls, you can really tell they are enjoying it and things like HMTMKMKM are so original and cool.

Saying that The Fly and Mr. Macfisto took balls, a lot of balls but I think U2 take themselves too seriously these days and are afraid to embarrass themselves, I can't imagine Mr. MacFisto making an appearance again....

I still can't decide between them now...
  2. ZooTV wins for me, no question about it.

Man, when they started it out as an indoor tour here in Europe I was blown away. And when they returned with outdoor shows I was still blown away.

Standing frontrow, seeing the (Christian) cross filled with flames coming up on hundreds of screens (or so it seemed) during Bullet, then seeing it change into a swastika while Bono saying in a very forceful voice "DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!!", wow, that memory will stay with me for the rest of my life!

  3. First of all it's not fare to compare the two. First look how many albums sold for Achtung Baby
Against Pop's sales imo POP is the last great album U2 made and it needs to be played more often live!!!!! So don't compare the to. If you want to compare two tours Do 360 and Zoo TV

well comparing sale numbers between nloth and achtung baby i don't quite see your point

i do agree one can like some tours better than others but comparison is quite irrelevant, if possible at all
  5. ZooTv no question for me. Then again I haven't listened to some Popmart in a while...
  6. i like zoo tv best of all tours. it's the most consistent and best ever perfect integration of everything. there was meaning to everything and the medium was the message. just plain brilliant.

i don't care about scale and i don't think popmart was better because the stage was bigger, neither do i think 360 is cool because the claw is big. i just think zoo tv was better than any other tour because it had both the strongest and the most perfectly carried out ideas.
  7. I can see ZooTV is better, but personally i love Popmart
  8. PopMart is the best tour because it had so many amazing performances ("Bullet The Blue Sky", "Please", "Until The End Of The World", "Mofo", "Where The Streets Have No Name")
  9. I love both of them but I think Zoo TV is the best. Although, PopMart has grown on me in the last month...
  10. I would say that Zoo TV is more "perfect", but Popmart is more emotional... They are different. Bono's voice is far better on Zoo, but it gives me goosebumps hearing him struggling with it during Popmart shows...
  11. Of the Last 5 Tours:

    1. Zoo TV
    2. Elevation
    3. 360
    4. Popmart
    5. Vertigo

Note: They are all very good (if not great) tours. Zoo was monumental. Elevation was great for its relative simplicity....and I like the setlists. 360 was great for its ability to awe. Popmart is underrated. Vertigo was fine but lacked the originality of the others.
  12. Normally I would say Zoo TV but I have a new found respect for Popmart and I agree with other people in saying it is much more emotional and intimate.

It's a tie for me. Both are simply outstanding tours.
