1. Dont know if its true or not, but there are unconfirmed reports that the Saudis have cleared there airspace to the Israelis, for is they choose to attack Iran.

One things for certain. There will be blood before this is over.

Read this in The Times a week ago. The situation in the region seems to be heating up and the boat incidents certainly didn't do much good.

Time aint particularly reliable, but if its true, things are gonna get worse before they get better.

  4. My apologies, it must have been The Daily Telegraph. I thought it was The Times (I mean the British paper), but then I realised their website is not for free anymore so I definitely read it in The Telegraph.
  5. The technical asppects of Isreal attacking Iran, are fairly challenging. Without tanker support, the planes would probally run out of fuel on the way back. Furthermore, the Iranan facilities are so well protected, that even bunker busters woulnd't do much damage. Combine that with the shiny new S-300 surface-to-air missiles that Iran is getting, and it seems like it probally aint gonna be worth it.

The exception would be if Israel could get the U.S. to sell it some F-22s, but so far, we have refused to sell them to any foreign countrys. (Read the F-22s specs. If any plane could pull it off, it would be the Raptor.)
  6. I dont see it happening.

They dont have in-air refuelling systems?

  7. Not sure. I know they have C-130s configured for that, but there setup aint the right kind for the F-15s that would probally be the plane of choice for this.

Two types of mid-air refuling. Boom and recepticle, and probe and drogue. Most countrys use probe and drogue, since its much simpeler. Thats what the C-130s, can do, but the F-15s are boom, and recepticle. I know they used to have some 707s configured for it, but I'm not sure there still in service.
  8. Never mind. They do have the required tankers. 8 of them supposedly.
  9. Interesting. Dont see it happening though, Israel has enough problems already. Starting a war on their own will put them further into isolation.

Israel doesen't really care what the rest of the world thinks of them, and if the reports are true, they have Saudi support.

In any case, I dont know if they have enough firepower to get the job done.
  11. Of course they care. Without the support of USA or the EU its gonna be though for them.

    They cant fight the world.

    Myth.

Well they do buy mostely U.S./European weapons, they have a local arms industry, that few know of.

Know one gives a crap about them. Why should they give a crap about anyone?
