Probably won't get it now since you're FA guy accused Spain and Russia of match fixing. I could think of a few better places but England is a good place for the World Cup, definately
  2. Nah, Holland and Belgium are going to host the world cup in 2018

But back on topic, when can we expect any news on the European leg? Is it no news is good news or will there be a statement if it's going to be delayed or not?
  3. The Claw destroys football pitches and it takes time for the pitch to recover afterwards. The premiership will be up and running again when the Europe leg starts meaning little or no available venues.

  4. 1:05 - 1:25

    US leg in spring 2011?
  5. Interesting. Leaves much room for other legs as well.

But with 92 league teams, some owning their stadium, some not - it could be a welcome cash boost to clubs lower down the league structure. U2 did play Don Valley, I'm sure there are larger stadiums that they could play and team would be willing to sacrifice their pitch for some money. Then again, the pitch would've just been laid...
  7. Pitch can be replaced of course, but i doubt it is playable directly after.
  8. Took Croke Park a few weeks to get back to normal, they had to put down entirely new pitch

  9. Costs £100,000 approx. to replace Wembley pitch, but lower league teams don't exactly buy 'premium' turf to relay their pitch, I'd imagine they pay around £25,000 or so, but I'm no groundsman. So the question would be is it worth allowing U2 to play at your stadium and would that provide enough of a cash boost that the pitch can be replaced without taking away any profits?

U2 did destroy the Hampden Park pitch though in August 2009. They also destroyed the pitch at Don Valley, leaving glass and nails on the grass.

So next question is could they play at a national stadium, Wembley, Millenium Stadium? Well around October time we have international friendlies (I think, not sure if there will be any so soon after World Cup).

I very much doubt U2 will come back to the UK this year, which is a shame.
  10. Can't they roll of the Wembley pitch? So there'd be no need to replace it
  11. The Wembley pitch is already horrendous due to it constantly being relayed. The FA are getting some stick for it. And the acoustics in there are shit it seems.
  12. AFL season runs from march to september, anytime outside that and u2 could pretty much mave any stadium they wanted in Aus... they just need to fooking say when
