1. I just saw this thread posted on Interference by a member named namkcuR, and I thought it was a really interesting question.

Aside from being arguably the album of their career, Achtung Baby seems like a defining pivot point in U2's career. A line for which you can say, there's everything before, and everything after. My question in this thread is this: If you had to pick, would you rather have everything before Achtung, or everything after Achtung(where neither group includes Achtung)?

    So:
Boy / October / War / Unforgettable Fire / Joshua Tree / Rattle and Hum / all b-sides, etc.
    or
    Zooropa / Passengers / Pop / ATYCLB / HTDAAB / NLOTH / all b-sides, etc.

I'd be inclined to choose everything before, but...I can't lose Pop. What do you all think?
  2. After. Only because Zooropa came after
  3. Before. U2, woulnd't be U2, without the Joshua Tree.
  4. After, there was no U2 before ZooTV.

Although there was a band with a few nice songs
  5. Unfortunately i think i'd go with before...
  6. After, no question. I love the experimental phases of U2. You can keep all those "classics" that now bore me to tears (minus WTSHNN)
  7. Actually I would go for -after-, but as Bad and One Tree Hill aren't included, I have to say BEFORE after all.
  8. After. Only because I loved U2's experimentation. Ok, ATYCLB and HTDAAB weren't brilliant but the rest made up for that.
  9. After.

I wish I had more to say about it, and could back it up better...but it's sort of just simply put for me. After.
  10. Good to see many 'afters'. For me however, it's before without a doubt.
