1. Im heading to Turin from Dublin on 6th of August and while I cant wait to hear and expect to hear EBTTRT , is anyone else worried that Bono's injury may restrict rehersals and as a result restrict the expected setlist changes
  2. Nah I think it will be fine, Bono should know the lyrics anyway and he doesn't even try in rehersals, plus he can sit down or whatever, I'm sure it will be fine and it will be Even Better Than The Real Thing...Childd

Totally true- had forgotten entirely about EBTTRT. This is my changed prediction-

    Get On Your Boots
    Magnificent
    Mysterious Ways
    Beautiful Day
    The Fly
    No Line on the Horizon
Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of
Even Better Than the Real Thing
I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight
Until the End of the World
    The Unforgettable Fire
    Vertigo
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Walk On
    Out of Control
    (Tutu)
    One
Where the Streets Have No Name
    -
Soon/HMTMKMKM (Whoever suggested this up there is genius)
    Breathe
    Ultraviolet
    Moment of Surrender

Funny, I noticed it way more during Vertigo. They're using tele's this time around, only rarely does he forget the words in my perspective.
  6. Trouble with Bono, is he's always got so many things going on in his head that I think he doesn't always have room or the concentration during certain 'moments' to remember all the words. He's a very manic guy - lots of energy and personality and at times I get the impression his head is all over the place with various things going on. Still, I know what you mean though - he's sang most of them for years now and he should know the words like the back of his hand by now but that's Bono - he's human and not your perfect rock star but he makes up for it in so many other ways.
  7. I love how he tends to forget the lyrics to Party Girl. They are among the easiest lyrics to remember in all their repertoire

Agree 100 %. And a speech before a song puts the song in a strict context, which I hate. For example, in Milan last year Bono told us about the Italian Prime Minister and his failure/refusal to do the things about the poor he had promised some time ago. But I prefer the song's more personal meaning. As if, being sung in the first person. Like active. Intimate. Passionate. That speech made it third person for me. Not meaningless, but surely dull and passive, in a way. Instead of being the high point of the concert, full of emotion from the band's part and from the crowd's part, I found it (and still find it today when listening to the bootleg) to be one of the lower points of that concert. Had Bono shut up before the song began, I would probably think differently today. Especially if they hadn't shortened the outro, too.

And Bono, while I know you are reading this and other U2 fora while recovering from the surgery, take a look at the Popmart Mexico City gig's performance of One to see what I meant about passion and intimacy. And first person. Please try to bring that with you to the next leg of the 360° Tour. It will make this tour bigger. And better. Thank you.

I don't want to hear Drowning Man AT ALL. And I definitely would not want it in the encore! It is not a good replacement for With Or Without You.

i think AIWIS is a good replacement for WOWY or The Fly maybe. Full band Staring at the Sun would probably work pretty well too.
