Yes, thanks Yeah for the info. I think they mean this December, since they also say that they're supposed to hit New Zealand after the end of the second European leg in November. So it looks as if they may play a few shows in NZ and AUS between November and December 2010.

I'm glad if this comes true, though I'm getting a bit worried about SOA. Will they ever find time to pull it out by the end of the year, always on the road?

  3. Fuck living in Adelaide

  4. Well, I guess we'll have to be (very) patient... One reason to be optimistic is that U2 may perhaps not want to play new songs live and publish them on a CD years later. One reason to be pessimistic is that, if the album isn't ready now (and it certainly isn't), it won't be ready in December either.

I think March/April 2011 may be the earliest feasible time for SOA to see the (public) light.

Anyway, let's cut this crap out. If all goes well, in two weeks we will be posting about the rehearsals in Turin.

Perhaps 1 or 2 new songs. Possibly a new opener. Some more live songs from NLOTH. Possibly other changes in the setlist. And Acrobat live, who knows...

In any event, (hopefully) something to be looking forward to .

    Amen!
  6. Great news to all those Auzzies! Thanks Yeah. Any news about them touring in Mexico?
  7. They'd damn well better come to Adelaide. They forget about Popmart and Pop conveniently, but make sure to go to the place where they did that tour - fucking Perth. That's it...if this is true, I'm going to Sydney or Melbourne. And then next tour, next round, they'll conveniently forget Australia exists like they did on a certain tour in 2001 - and Aerosmith too.

Of course Guns N Roses decided they're doing Australia and likely Adelaide like they have on their Chinese Tourforevertour - I mean, Guns N Roses - as much as I like them still, but not bloody U2? If Axl can do it, so can U2. And Alice Cooper does all the states since the BP tour, so if an old fart like him can, surely four younger farts such as U2 can too. And Santana too. Three other guys that can, so what's the issue?

If they do come to Adelaide, they'd better damn well play somewhere actually in Adelaide and not Football Park, 'cos have you ever tried to get in that damn carpark or even on a damn bus there? Worse than the AC/DC show down at Adelaide Oval - and there's another one; AC/DC. How old are they and they're damn well popular and they bothered to come, y'know. U2 got 60 000 people out in 2006, surely 60 000 tickets...is that enough? Rant over and it might not even be true, but y'know, just how I feel about the certain rumours, which surely of course will be true.
  8. Does the chance of U2 come to Brazil gets bigger when they go to Australia? I hope so!

And as I said before, It's always great to see U2 going down (talking about the hemisfere, of course!)

  9. According to the Australian radio Triple M, U2 will visit Australia and Japan at the beginning of 2011

    http://www.u2place.com/newsdett.asp?idN=4429

The tour plans should be officially announced at the beginning of August.

This should be good nows for our friends down under, and it would also make it more likely - or at least slightly less unlikely... - that U2 will pull out a new album by the end of the year. A nice Christmas present?

    Fingers crossed!
  10. That's coherent with the last rumours compiled in U2gigs:

They state that Live Nation has been working with local promoters and venues on the basis of the following provisional itinerary: Japan and South Korea in early February 2011; Australia and New Zealand in late February; Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Peru in March; and then Mexico and the rescheduled US and Canadian dates in April and May.

Indeed. It is going to be a busy 10/12 months for them, starting from... well, presumably now, if it's true that they are preparing a partially new show, with some brand new songs.

U2 haven't road tested songs since 1982 (SBS, NYD, Surrender) - apart from the TV version of TTYW in 1986 and the 1987 performance of WLCTT towards the end of the JT tour. Or am I getting this wrong...?

    Let's hope for the best.
  12. U2 Summer Aussie Tour

Last week we announced that U2 were coming to Australia in the summer but what we didn't say was which summer.

Well, all indications look like it's going to be this summer! Our music reporter Nui Te Koha told Triple M's Hot Breakfast that U2 look very, very likely at being here in November/December 2010.

"They're going to do Europe, South America and that's where Australia fits in before they head back to America next year," said Nui.

"I spoke to the promoter Michael Coppel to see what kind of scale it is and he said it's incredibly huge. It's like that UFO in Close Encounters… It will stick out of the stadium and it will be a force to be reckoned with."

So it will be a massive summer for Aussie audiences with U2, The Eagles, Bon Jovi, Peter Frampton and America all touring, and lets not forget Slash this August. Basically everybody is going to be here!

Nui asked promoter Paul Dainty if the summer season was in danger of becoming overcrowded? "We keep saying 'well, it's so crowded that someone is going to get hurt' and yet we haven't so far seen it. I think if it's the A-grade stuff it does well."

Meanwhile, it looks like Melbourne will not get a second Bon Jovi show.

"We thought there was going to be a second Bon Jovi show," Nui admitted. "The dates were open for Etihad and it looked like there was a window on December 9 because their next show is not until Brisbane on Dec 11.

"I spoke to Paul Dainty last week and he said 'No!'. They have to get all their equipment out of Etihad Stadium and up to Brisbane on time, so that's a load out on Sunday and they take everything up on Monday.

"It's a 40-truck tour so... it's a big show to move and unfortunately it looks like Melbourne won't get a second show."
