1. They definitely have to improve their communication with the audience. If Matt and Chris were a bit more expansive and talked a bit more during the shows, the whole band's appeal to the wide media&critic&audience would change a lot, and they would surely become the biggest live band in all aspects, not only in the musical one (in which they already are).

edge, adam and larry hardly talk to the crowd either

  3. Bono takes all their places, you're right. Edge speaks about 298367352 times more than Chris, though.

All Dom's speeches and stuff can't compare to Bono's or Chris Martin's or Michael Stipe's or [insert random rock frontmen here], and the audience who attends a concert likes more communication with the band, not just "Play and cheer, Hello, Good bye". If we wanted that, we would gather in a stadium and play just the album songs on the PA......

yeh i agree with u, Dom doesnt say all that much, an yes bono does more then enough for the whole band
  5. I've listened some Muse bootlegs where there are barely any Thank Yous and that's all, not Goodnight, not How are you doing, no anything. That's the BIG down that Muse has live, and probably the problem that will avoid them becoming the biggest band of the world. C'mon, guys, realize it: you're not a indie/unknown band anymore, you're big and famous, and you have an audience to please: accept it!! Being a bit more friendly and communicative won't affect your music negatively (more likely the opposite), so go for it.
  6. Talking to audience is not something they should force. Bono talks too much sometimes and yes, many of us would be disappointed if we'd come to a concert and he would just say "Good night!" at the end of the concert. If Muse doesn't talk on stage, why force it?

Look at the Dylan, he barely says "Hello!" at the concert and he's a legend, millions and millions listen to his music. And nobody complains at that.
  7. I go to the concert to see the band play their songs, not to hear him talk to the crowd. Doesn't bother me that Matt doesn't talk. The music does the talking.

I feel like Dylan is a different type of musician for that, though...I never find myself having to "sit back and just take a breath" listening to Dylan's music. If I saw U2 360, and Bono didn't take a quick break before ISHFWILF to say "hey, how's it going, [scripted spaceship bullshit]", I don't know what I'd think. I sort of need that at a U2 show.

Muse (though I've never seen them live, in the flesh,) is the same style show, for me. It packs so much punch, the audience should be offered a chance to breathe as the rock stars acknowledge the fact that the fans are even present. Gotta side with Sergio on this one
  9. A nice cover by Tiffany Page:

  10. LOTS of audience complain about Dylan's lack of communication in his concerts!!! I have a friend who is a TRUE Dylan hard-die fan, and has attended his last 2 shows here in Spain..... Well, he almost cried when Dylan got up and down the stage without saying "Good night" at the beggining or end of the shows. Both shows.

I was lucky enough to get 3 or 4 Matt's speeches last month at the Madrid show, but I know lots of people who haven't. And it's disappointing. I'm not saying we/they should force it, but they just have to relax a bit and be more expansive, some laughs, jokes or small speeches will only improve the show quality. They're not in an studio, they're playing a live show in front of thousands of people who have paid for being there. Some communication can't do any harm to the show!!

See, not talking to the crowd during a show like Dylan's, I can somewhat understand. I have enough respect for him that, if he wants to run his show the way he wants it, I'm okay with that- even if it involves no talking DURING the show. But not even a goodnight? Thanks for coming out, you've been great? That's harsh..
  12. I hope Bono is taking notes
