1. I'm sure Paul McG probably saw some money-making scheme in playing it later in the set to which I fancy it might have been Larry who said the above.
  2. I guess they must be trying different positions for Soon because it won't be the opener, but they don't want to get rid of it.
Nevertheless, -and in case they finally don't use it as opener- I wonder if they will play it live or it will be pre-recorded... They haven't used a full pre-recorded song ever, have they? Well, maybe all those things in Zoo TV (video confessionals, stuff before UTEOTW, etc).
  3. I am eager for news.. cant stop checking the site....
  4. I hate to reveal my naivete, but what is Soon? Anyone have a link where I can hear it? Of my 448 U2 songs in my Itunes library, none of the titles contain the word "Soon".
  5. It was released in a 7 inch single with the super-duper-deluxe edition of the Rose Bowl DVD. It was the short song that played over the PA before they launched into Breathe for the opening

The opening of each 360 Tour concert, right after Space Oddessy. "Sing yourself on down the street, sing yourself right off your feet..."

Lemon in 1997 was pre-recorded; I'd be very happy if they were to sing it live. I think Breathe was a good opener; I'd only change it for a new song from a new album, not even a new unrealized song (so it's too soon for that). The opener has always been a new song from a new album since 1992; to do otherwise might sound as looking backwards and not forward...
  9. shit i'm psyched

    You naive aussie!

And it refers to the fact, at least in my humble opinion, that a lot of rockstars died before 33 (hendrix, joplin, brian jones, morrison). The rockmyth that you need to die young as a rock star (cobain , elvis, etc..) is something that U2 rejects and tries to prove wrong. Rock is a constructive and positive movement instead of destructive...

Well didn't know this song had that much in it for me, but know I've put it in words...pretty heavy stuff
  11. doesnt this new song look like this
