1. yeaaaaah but look at those songs.
  2. I personally think it's all looking quite lovely. I saw the same setlist twice in a week, and I don't care a jot. But that's just me. I'd happily see the same setlist 3 more times. It would be great to see more variation, but as it is, I still think it's great.

aah thanks Harry for making me finish this night with a positive vibe. I was almost going to sleep with the thought that I was going to a b-act next week.

  4. No, NLOTH live was terrible, Bono didn't have the voice half the time and there was too much of a wall of guitar noise feel to it, much of the nuances of the album version were lost in the live translation and it was rather flat.

IMO if they're going to play a song live - no matter how good it is, they should make sure they can do a decent job of it, ie. unlike TUF, or Stay, WOWY

Well, you might be on your own re. that one m'man, I loved it and know a lot of people around here did too - I thought the live versions took it on that bit further and made it what it is. I love the album version, but when I compare it to live versions, I find it wanting - it's the wall of sound that makes it for me, the guitars, the bass, the drums, it's a beast of a song live.

Haha, glad to be of service bud I'd love to be in the position of all you guys gigging it up, but unfortunately I'm going to be spending the next few months being a lot more mundane and just keeping up with the Joneses on here!

HMTMKM to replace UV as one of the very few big exciting changes really speaks a lot of volumes with what's going on, as does the reluctance to use any NLOTH songs.

See, now if they really were taking on board what a lot of the fans were saying, they would know NLOTH is a good song live, some of the ATYCLB stuff is getting stale, the setlist is also becoming constantly predictable and 'safe', and people want to hear more stuff from AB, Pop, Joshua Tree, R&H, and Boy.

Yes, it's great to see the boys back on tour after everything that's happened and yes we're lucky they are still going after all this time but this tour, more than any other tour, is playing it extremely safe and predictable and feels more than anything, almost like a greatest hits tour - but at least if was a greatest hits tour will would maybe see more variety!

I love U2, I really do. But if on Friday the setlist is the same as the one they rehearsed then I don't really feel very hopeful or excited about what the rest of the tour brings.

I again apologise for negativity, I just see so much potential with that stage setup and Bono's voice that it almost feels like it's being wasted. Maybe I am spoilt by what the band did during the Vertigo Tour but it's certainly obvious that when you compare the two tours and each legs, this tour is lacking a lot of creativity.

If they perform both those new songs in one concert I think that is pretty ballsy... I mean the casual fan definitely does not know it!
  8. I still think that Stand Up Comedy would be cool live. I know a lot of you guys hate it (and I really don't understand why) but it could get the crowd rocking.

it's borrrring on the album. if you play tthe entire album on a loop it's nice though. and yes it could work live, but then they have to play it and they are not willing to it seems.
  10. Hmmm, they probably will play a similar set to last year for a show or 2, but then expect song changes and position in the set list changes. MORE REQUESTS - i would change the position of the songs more than the actual setlist first, 2009 360 never seemed to get off the ground on the first 2 legs, much like popmart. Miss Sarajevo will totally bore everyone, again, because they will all be saying "darn, why can't they play Running to Stand Still?". And the 2-4 songs of old stuff played near the begining of the Vertigo shows was killer, but maybe take it to the next phase this time and play 3 or 4 in a row from the second side of Joshua Tree. And my last song requests - "For the First Time", "She's a mystery" and "Kite" because they are amazing songs and i have never seen them live. So, I would like to close with a thank you - Thank You for opening with Beautiful Day, it will really set the tone for the rest of the show. Hope all is well with the back and the voice and can't wait to catch the next 360 show.
    PS
    any arena shows in 2011??
  11. I'm actually getting worried he's really gonna hurt himself,
  12. I too am rather disappointed with the lack of changes in the setlist. Yes, it's a good setlist but it's pretty much been done...I own the Pasadena DVD and I don't want to see the same show. Where's "Even Better Than The Real Thing?!?!" And what about something (anything) from Pop and/or Zooropa!?! Hopefully some more changes will be made by 2011.
