  2. LOL do you mean by the lack of 90's and high amount of ATYCLB? I think it's the band who's suddenly forget they made songs in the 90s (although I give them kudos for HMTMKMKM and MS)

    No, I mean by the moaning about the little setlist changes and the suggested songs.


  5. That could be true. But I can't see the majority going home thinking FFS they didn't even play GOYB. Or Elevation. Because WOWY is a good (dare I say classic) song, even if it's not performed very well lately, but those other two are crap. Elevation had its day 10 years ago and it was good as an opener. GOYB, on the other hand, never even had its day. Sorry to those who like it. Both of you.

    They listen to us more than some other bands, The Ramones barely changed their setlist at all in their last ten years.

    a large part of the crowd will be the casual u2 fans who dunt own all of their albums and certainly dunt download the bootlegs of their live shows, and hence they arent sick of beautiful day, pride, one, wowy because they havnt heard them lots of times like we have. they bought a ticket to hear these 'classics' and for us to want the band to favour the minority of die hards by playing other stuff, well thats never gona happen. if u2 were playing to a group a 2,000 die hards then i dunt doubt for a second theyd mix things up a lot.
  8. Wait and see, there were changes during the legs 1 and 2 too (Bad, Your Blue Room, Mysterious Ways, Stuck , Electrical Storm a few times, no more Pride...). But I'm a bit disappointed by the setlist they played yesterday. Not really because of the lack of changes, but playing only 4 songs of their last album (5 "new" songs with Glastonbury) is really disappointing to me. Especially the fact that they drop No Line... That song is so powerful.

    Yes, it is powerful, but a little damaging for Bono's voice too (idem for Breathe). I agree that there is a lack of new songs in this setlist (3 promised new songs; 1 played, 3 dropped...).

    The JT, AB, Pop days, when the new material was prominent on the scene, are gone. This might as well be physiological, but it also tells us that the band is not as fresh and creative as it used to be - if they trust the old material more than the new songs, that is. We're a bunch of U2 fanatics, and we'd like to live them forever... but U2 are beginning their 50's new - alas, these are ther very last years up there.
  10. Only downside I see is the opening song, the encore with only HMTMKMKM replacing UV (which was my highlight) and the absence of NLOTH. The addition of new songs and MS and Hold Me is nice though.

  12. I wouldn't say that they are losing their creative talent, more like they are trying to find a new direction to take their musical style. The prominent theme with NLOTH (album) is a more "spiritual" theme, per say. It vastly differs from that of ATYCLB and certainly HTDAAB (which happens to be my personal favorite album), but it's something new. In any case, I still give the band a ton of praise for having been around for so long and be able to adapt to changing trends.


    But regarding the setlist, I've never actually attended a U2 concert before, so I know that I wouldn't be disappointed with whatever it is they decide to play.
