  1. i really like the lines of Discotheque in Crazy Tonight. Glad to see an extended snippet of it if we can't get the complete song
  2. Wow, people are really crabby...this is one of the best shows the band has put together in a long time. The Discotheque snippet in Crazy Tonight was great, I think I heard some new lyrics in SBS, Miss Sarajevo was brilliant with the new Italian verse (and Bono's voice sounds good), HMTMKMKM is back, UTEOTW is still an amazing live song, TUF is still one of the best songs they've ever penned, Streets and MW sounded really good, and they played 3 new songs- one of which they opened the show with, and all of which are quite good (and MOS is still a great closer). Sure, IALW is still in the show (although I happen to personally enjoy it), GOYB isn't that great of a song, WOWY doesn't have Shine Like Stars, UV and UC are missing, and they still show no signs of ever wanting to play Acrobat...but there's really so much more good to take from this particular show than there is bad. People need to simmer down and enjoy life more (and realize that U2 has to cater to casual fans, too, which is why we will never hear a show of all 90s music).

  4. wheres anything from the 80s albums-(ex the joshua tree)..?? id like to see-(dream) "out of control", "a day without me", "gloria" "11 o,clock tick tock""electric co", bring back "new years day" something a bit unusual of "the unforgetable fire"...maybe "wire". surely they could pluck a couple of them songs out and perform them.?? and why always "streets" and "wowy" from "the joshua tree"..??
    great songs live and the main-stay of any u2 show, but wheres "bullet the blue"- with the jimi hendrix style guitar solo..?? "in gods country", "trip through your wires"...etc.. personally i think there is enough room in their set-list for at least a couple of songs from each album-( boy till the present day)
    they have done the 1st legs of the 360* tour in both europe and the usa. im sure this leg is a fresh start-(sort of) and that it is called "extravaganza". therefore it should be different....yea..??
    the main-stay of the set-list is still the same........not enough variety for the die-hard fans at all.

    I'm confused. Didn't you say you didn't want them to copy the Stones and do a greatest hits tour? That sounds an awful lot like a greatest hits tour to me. Besides, "a couple" songs from each album puts them at 24 songs, and that's only playing 2 from the album they're out supporting now. Now it's definitely sounding like a greatest hits tour.

    To be honest I think a lot of the songs you mentioned wouldn't fit in the setlist very well. Especially the boy songs, and the more "deserty" tracks off of the Joshua Tree. For instance, I can't see them going from UF, Crazy Tonight, to something like Trip Through Your Wires, it just wouldn't work. I think some songs from the 90's would work, but I think the theme oft his tour (if it's still existant at all) fits better without u2's more punk-rock songs or bluesy songs in it.

  8. yea, fair enough. im just making the point that there needs to be more variety, as the set-list is basically the same as last year. and personally i dont think the stage surroundings matter at all, its the "music" that matters to me mostly at any show. if the sound production was better it wouldnt matter what style they played. at the shows i attended last year the sound production wasnt the best, it was missing something...??? it wasnt raw enough and punky for me, and there was no "beef" in the sound either. i think it would be a good idea if they broke the show up into different styles......they could do a punk style, a blues style, a disco type style, an acoustic section and a hard rock style section. if the sound is good enough, then the lighting and effects etc...can be sorted to match whatever style they play-( just an idea). changes to the set-list were promised, but looks like not delivered. the main-stay of the show is the same. beautiful day, city of blinding lights, vertigo, still havent found, elevation etc..........they could of at least dropped a couple of them songs for others.
    example until the end of the world, gone, bad, kite could easily replace a few of the current songs on the set-list. anyway when it comes down to it- its hard to please all the people, all the time.
    i will take whatever they play....and enjoy every single second of it, and no-doubt i will be transported to that place where only a u2 gig can take you........

    c,mon if i could personally do their set-list it wouldnt resemble anything like a "greatest hits tour".

    my point was that you cant please everyone, and a bit of variety-(within the boundaries of what type of songs they are playing anyway) would be great. and i do think that they are "playing it safe" with the songs they are playing because they are scared of unsold tickets. i know that this tour is costing mega-money.....so do they have any other choice.? the sales of nloth wouldnt of helped either.

    im still looking 4ward to seeing them in sept in brusells.... no matter what they play.

    I think they are trying to please everyone though, they're trying to cater to the casual fans (obviously) and the hardcore fans at the same time, songs like UF, Your Blue Room (shame that it's been dropped), Hole Me Thrill me (now), and UV, all were tunes that casual fans wouldn't have known. I think they've done a hell of a job, and now they're introducing new tracks to the setlist? Great!! If they take out In A Little While and trade it for Your Blue Room, take out Mysterious Ways and trade it for Mofo, we'd have a killer freakin show. The way I see it, we're nearly there, and I'm not going to nitpick. If they ever play Mofo, or any U2 song in that category (a live rarity now days) and make it a staple on the setlist, I'll be extremely pleased. As of now, I'm just simply pleased.
