    It COULD be an F#m? If you play chords for the "touch me..." bit, that is. When I had a bandy type thing going with a couple of friends, we tried doing Beautiful Day but unfortunately, my mate who was playing rhythm guitar isn't great, and I had to do lead AND sing which I can do, but on BD, to begin with I found it awkward playing Edge's riff AND singing my arse off lol, so I played barre chords until the outro when I started letting rip, making it a sort of solo bit?

    It has to be a F#m-in-proccess chord, I mean, changing from the open form of D or A chord to the 2nd-fret-barred F#m...

    Singin' your heart out there!!! Good stuff, and that's actually the first shot I've seen of you. Also, Chris...cool shot there. And for Yogi, all those fans on one bus...bet ya's all had U2 playing full pelt, singing away. So very cool, I'd love to do that one day.

    After more thought, this actually HAS to be Beautiful Day, because it was the only song I moved the mic over to my right side for, in order to be able to stomp some pedals and sing at the same time. And I play Edge's "solo" part during the "touch me" part- high up on the G & B strings.



    Out in Tinley, where I live, at a bandshell that's actually only about 5 minutes drive from the First Midwest Bank Ampitheater. And yes, this summer we dedicated to covers since virtually everyone we knew was graduating high school and we were playing all of their parties- we wanted to stick to playing things people knew to generate a general interest.

    The songs I write over on the "Songs You've Written" thread don't go to waste though- we're already talking about how we're going to work them in next summer, and try to write complete songs around my often-unfinished lyrics and guitar parts
