But Last Night on Earth, I love it. The studio version is good but compare it to the live version, that's a different story. The live version is epic.

Cool fact if it's true, I've never heard it before. I just think it sounds awesome and has lots of depth on the album- very COOL vibe and feel to it

Epic live when Bono's voice doesn't sound like his throat is made of sandpaper and The Edge matches him perfectly. Not all the time- but don't get me wrong, there are a could amaaaaazing performances, I agree.

  4. Haha I'm right there with you...this MUST be because you're worried that the spectacular-ness of both of those songs will literally blow your brain right out of your head. It is the only logical reason.

Gotta disagree on Do You Feel Loved and If God Will Send His Angels- the studio touches on those are too perfect, and the few live performances didn't do them justice unfortunately. They never got around to perfecting them (which is a shame). Last Night on Earth is like that with me, too- there's some reverb/cool effect on the "give it away" part that just gives it so much depth on the album.

The only four Popmart concerts I have are Leeds, Sarajevo, Santiago, and Mexico City (the "obvious" ones). "Do You Feel Loved" and "If God Will Send His Angels" weren't played at any of those venues so, you are correct, the studio versions would be better for a guy like me. I did hear the "If God..." version in Edmonton and thought that was rather weak. Gotta add that I really like the "If You Wear That Velvet Dress" as it fades in from "Discotheque" on the four shows I have.
