Chris, I'm not joking- here's what I hate about the tour right now:

    -In a Little While
    -Walk On
    -No NLOTH
    -Show Intro

I'll deal with the show intro- I'm all about them trying something new. And I've given up on complaining about Walk On; I'm just used to it. I'm fine with it. I'm not one to complain about Elevation- it was one of the songs (the Vertigo Chicago performance) that got me to start looking deeper into their live catalouge, because I didn't know they changed songs like they changed Elevation. I like hearing it. I DON'T like hearing IALW, and I can't STAND not hearing NLOTH.

Mark my words. Will not complain.

I agree with you up until Show Intro. The intro is amazing!

But In A Little While needs dropped, it's boring. Walk On, getting fed up with this Burma thing as well. No NLOTH is a crime.
  2. It's all Bono's fault.

We need a new opening certainly, then maybe three or four new songs to keep it interesting for us as much as everyone else.
I've been keen to put in Mercy, for the novelty value of playing something unreleased, and then there's Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World which will be a winner if we can make the production elements happen. Perhaps inspired by opening the tour in Italy, Bono suggested Miss Sarajevo.
Looking through the set he then put his finger on Ultraviolet and wondered if there was another song we could put there which would still work with the hanging microphone and laser jacket. After a minute or two he suggested Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me, which hasn't seen the light of day since PopMart.
In many ways Ultraviolet was the great stealth surprise of last year - a little known album track which came back and stole the show (like a modern day Bad) - but it's on the DVD and in the security of knowing we have it in the bag, it's good to be able to think about alternatives.
To give ourselves a sense of how it might be, we watched the performance of Ultraviolet from the Rosebowl DVD, whilst listening to Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me. It's clearly not going to be a straight 'cut and paste' but it was a lot more promising than I'd thought. I love that song too - such a big, glam, bombastic thing. It used to sound so good on the PopMart tour.

  3. so do u think Mercy is the new song Dallas reffered to? If this turns out to be true it is going to be a huge thing among the hard core fans.
  4. if they play mercy i will implode with pure joy.
  5. here is what i can't stand all of the All that you cant leave behind songs need to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I'm enjoying Glastonbury but they could give it a rest for a bit, or rotate it with Mercy... I also want to hear Winter (either form will do).
  7. If they played Mercy live it would be the most gutsy thing they have done fro 12 years...
  8. I think the new songs must be on the setlist and Ultreaviolet was a highlight during the entire tour , so it is a crazy thing to dropped it

Why they bring back New Years day !!??

    Can anyone answer me !!??

  9. Because it's a good song and gets the crowd going.

  10. Touche

It's old, overplayed, but I love it. It's always nice to listen to a good live version of New Year's Day.
  11. A member of another U2 forum I participate in had a brilliant idea, which came to him in a dream!

What if they went from stingray, into...."What time is it in the world? 11 O CLOCK, TICK TOCK!"

Amazing idea, I thought it was brilliant. Wouldn't fit the whole theme (if there is one) that well, but it would be kickass.
