1. no not sarcasm, serious, it would be perfect, no messing around, just a proper concert for proper fans and play the BEST songs, not the most popular. and surely they have enough money, they should just screw their companies and play for their enjoyment.

im sure they will do it one day and its gonna be great.
  3. Some people here seem a bit over dramatic. Relax, it's U2 we're talking about, their big tours always had at least a big part of the show that never changes - Vertigo included. Would I be happy with different songs every night ? Of course. But that's not gonna happen. Now, they did do a tiny change tonight, and everybody is complaining about not having UF and UTEOTW in the set. I, for one, am curious to hear Hold Me and UV back to back.
  4. The sooner we all agree that the band will never satisfy all of the people all of the time, the sooner we get happy again.

Most of us are curious about that combo as well, but I wish they would've skipped something like Elevation or In a little While instead.

  6. Yeah that's true, but they don't seem to be pleasing anyone here

  7. 99% of fans see one show. The other 1% are mad. That 1% lives here.
  8. Amen, Gerard.

I posted a farewell topic on my beloved U2EastLink forum some days ago, in the 5th anniversary of the Madrid 2005 show, saying basically the same as you said. It took me about 250 lines, but the core was essentially the same. AMEN

  9. Exactly, those 99% are perfectly happy with what they get. If I could hear a single U2 show per tour and no others, I'd be happy with whatever they play. Don't understand why people moan on here about static setlists, U2 don't play 100+ shows per tour to satisfy bootleg collectors. I saw two shows last year and had the same setlist, but enjoyed them both due to them being under different circumstances. I'd happily pay to go and see them this year, safe in the knowledge that the first half has been shuffled around. I'd also no doubt be singing along to Pride and With Or Without You when the time comes as well.

U2 are only playing for those who are attending and I dare bet those who go thoroughly embrace the night and have a great time. I've downloaded Turin and Hannover so far and unless there's a striking moment in an upcoming show, I'll probably hold off for a while. It's not going to bother me, if I want to hear Ultra Violet I can listen to last leg or some Zoo. If I want to hear great With Or Without You's, I can head over to The Joshua Tree bootlegs.

Just be thankful that there is this great amount of stuff freely available and that U2 are continuing to tour and evidently pulling the fans in.

Nice to see Ultra Violet return though
  10. well that's put my complaining to bed

I was being wayyyy to selfish...
  11. I think the internet totally ruins it for most of us too. If we weren't able to see the same setlists (more less the same) night after night, it wouldn't be such a letdown when we saw the concert ourselves. I know when I see the two rescheduled shows I have tickets for next year, I'm going to be so damn happy, even if the setlists are similar to what we're getting now, and even if both shows I go to have the same setlists. It's U2 live for god sakes. The thing is, by being able to see the setlists show after show, it gets predictable for us, and we judge the setlists in a totally different light than we would if we only knew the setlist of the shows we saw and whatnot. This is why next year, I'm not going to look at any of the setlists, just in case they decide to throw out a few surprises, I won't know about them, and I'll have that much more fun.
