1. First Greece, now Spain. The strike could cause a lot of trouble.
  2. dance album? bono said that too about nloth.'an album to play in clubs'. well, not really. yeah, that shitload of remixes maybe.
  3. If the album does prove to be dancalicious (gayest word that I've used on this forum to date ), that will be a huge win.
  4. if they really want to make a dance album they should collaborate with the scissor sisters
  5. Don't get excited. Actually, don't expect anything from U2 when it comes to new records, just wait for them to be released. Any kind of hype about a new U2 album should be completely ignored.

    history told us so, indeed.

Dancalicious? I like Funkadelic (after the early James Brown records) and Dancegerian (for Jim Steinman, except more funkier and upbeat).
  8. Lol, a gay u2 album. that would sound cool. but Larry would protest, of course.

  9. They should try exploring something they haven't done in a while - rock. That'd be a good start!

Not that everything they've done this decade is bad...the last three albums have had a few decent songs on them but it sounds more pop than anything. If they're not careful we could be seeing the Irish version of Aerosmith eventually - making popular 'pop' music but forgetting to actually rock.
  10. I can't say that Achtung Baby is rock. Joshua Tree isn't that rock either. HTDAAB is more rock than these two.

I meant Boy, October and War. Not later stuff. Go in a studio for three months, record whatever comes out and see how well it does. Because as we've seen, going in various studios for three years, recording stuff that landed on NLOTH and putting that out clearly doesn't work.

"We're not promoting anything," he [Edge] contends, referring to the early emphasis on last year's No Line on the Horizon. "These concerts are everything we have to give -- our past, our future, where we're at today."

This was the 'Bono says we have four projects going' news article. It sounds to me like they hate NLOTH from this. Disowning it, sadly.
  12. I don't think they hate it, they just noticed that the GENERAL audience isn't that big of a fan of it so they decide to play more popular stuff.

    And thanks, but I don't need a nother Boy/October/War.
