    3:35-3:55 in the u2gigs video is my favorite moment of the entire tour, maybe the decade.
  3. I don't think that EBW is the mega-hit-and-generation-anthem that we were told, but I'm glad either way, it's a wonderful song from what we've heard. Here's waiting for the full-band arrangement and for a clear-enough recording to make out the full lyrics
  4. It's totally random and interchangeable with North Star in this arrangement. Same style of lyrics, same bad slogan lines for the "chorus"... Not as bad as Stuck but not a good song neither.
  5. The least impressive of the new songs. U2 by numbers. NLOTH goosebumped though, even in its bastardised form.
  6. 'Tis an alright little song - always reminds me of The Fly intro. a la Elevation Tour though, same idea. Not complaining though, I like that kind of thing, but it's not an incredible song, it's a decent one.

    I did find it funny that there was a comment on u2gigs' video on YouTube, someone who clearly doesn't like U2 telling everyone to get over them etc., and that EBW was just recycled chords and whatever. Now, where I find fault in that is that there are only so many chords one can choose from...and only so many keys to arrange them in...the chances are, chords will be re-used at some point, and indeed, have been millions of times over. Just found that amusing.
    At the end of the day, bands use a style that works for them - they might evolve it, mix it up and whatnot every so often, but they still have the same way with their music. 'Tis what I think.


    Agree on NLOTH, I loved it. Did feel that it kinda lacked a bit of oomph when the 2nd verse kicked in though. If they worked out a way to combine the acoustic and the big electric feel, I think it would be amazing. Either way, so glad to see it back in the setlist.

    Listen to this man, there is absolutely nothing noteworthy about the song in it's current form other than the lyrics which are decent.

    However this is nothing like the studio version, which from previews is six minutes long and built upon waves of synth, so we'll judge it when we hear that one - but the current acoustic version is quite unremarkable - even North Star has more interesting singing.

    North Star : "I can't wait any longer for your love" ; Bono saying he's got money to spent and he's a space cowboy...

    Every Breaking Wave : "The waves know we're one the rocks, drowning is no sin" ; "I don't know if i'm that strong to meet somebody, to be someone"

    I mean... Seriously ?

    I like 'north star', but the lyrics and music from 'every breaking wave' are indeed better, lyrics are more poetic. I think it would be even a better song if they add drums and bass (but not in the beginning, cause it’s perfect now the way it is)
