1. its hard to say after only 1 listen really, its probably not as good as the Killers because I love the albums so much but its different, less rock really...
  2. alright, i folded and listened to it - it's out tomorrow anyway, so i'll definately buy it then - and it's great.

    it's like electro-Sam's Town.

the intro track's great especially, "welcome to fabulous las vegas, didn't anybody tell you the house will always win?"
  3. My favourite is : Only The Young and Crossfire

I also like The Clock was Tickin'
  4. I don't really know The Killers, but anyway, it seems really very far from what he has done with the band so far. And I personnally love it.
  5. I really like this album, I think its querky and original and fun
  6. From my first listen it sounds like a TERRIBLE album.

There is way too much hamfisted religious imagery - and the lyrics are absolutely shocking in many places.

The actual songs sound very similar to each other and most of the melodies aren't that strong, the choruses are in many cases quite weak - especially for The Killers. The instrumentation is very bland and generic too (though I liked the synth line on Only the Young)

Definitely a massive disappointment - I don't even think I particularly liked a single song. And the fact that I've been listening to The Suburbs for the past month (which is absolutely brilliant) didn't help.

The Killer's definitely seem to be on the way out, first Day & Age which was not a great album and now this. They're definitely going the other way compared to Arcade Fire or CP etc. which are getting better with each album.

The critics also seem to be unimpressed, 5/10s from NME, SPIN
But seriously some of the lyrics are downright atrocious :
  7. People who read negative reveiws will be put off straight away.

Make up your own mind people, enjoy it if you want

Indeed ! Great album for me, love that kind of music, just so pure. But it's true that I'm not fond of The Killers...
  9. i finally bought my hard copy today, worth the wait.

it gets better with each listen, and despite what reviews say, i love the lyrics, especially The Clock Was Tickin' and Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas. he's getting his Springsteen influences back.

the only songs that haven't clicked with me yet are Playing With Fire and Jacksonville.

music critics' views should be taken with a pinch of salt, after all, U2's Pop got some shocking reviews on release, and we all know how good that is in reality.
  10. Only the Young and Playing with Fire are my instant favorites. Alright album... some filler
