1. He's using ALL Stu's stuff...

    Btw, a U2 belt
  2. 600 transactions. 15 Euros per item... I wonder if Bono knows where he parks his car.

  3. I also think about that famous quote, and then think to myself "Is there anything they actually can do?" .... Because I think there isn't - legally of course.

  4. I'm not too sure if i should feel like it's a compliment or being used, i guess the "trade only, do not sell" message isn't quite working.

I also remember one of my old INXS bootleg covers being used on ebay a while back.....damn, maybe i'm in the wrong business and should perhaps try & get a job somewhere doing this kind of thing.

  5. I'm not really concerned about the artwork as that's more or less a by-product (no pun intended). But seeing people pay for recordings that I made and shared freely makes me think about who's the bigger problem. the guy who makes profit of my stuff or the people who buy it...
  6. No way, Stu!! You're on the right way, making stuff for free and sharing it with people, just for the sake of it, is the greatest way to use your time

PS. On the other hand, you would success in the design job I reckon.

I'm a little concerned that my name is on the artwork being sold, i want nothing to do with illegal business, U2 find out, who is this Stu guy who has his name on the back cover etc etc.

  8. there always will be bootlegs, you can't stop that.
and i don't think u2 will loose money or getting poor because of that...
godfather makes some very cool stuff, BUT:
they should get a taper of their own, don't use other tapers recordings !
look at crystalcat for a example, they make very good stuff without disrespect tapers and covermakers !
  9. That's it. They're getting profit of two different other-people's work: U2 & its live act AND the respectable work of a taper who kindly shares his recording. That's why they deserve going to hell, not because they sell bootlegs.
  10. It's very easy for the band to stop bootlegging; release every show like PJ does...
I don't mind the bootlegs, i think we all have a nice picturedisc or rare show that we're very proud of... (and paid some good money for?)
what i hate more is these ticketscalpers and ticket-sell-websites who sell tix for 2 or 3 times more than the original price !

As if that would stop bootlegging.
