that would be world class but we can keep dreaming
  2. I'd be happy if they just snippeted it...but I'd wet myself if they played it whole. Such an awesome unreleased song

Isn't the Being Born part of Fez-Being Born just Being Born...?

Yeah, I'd love to hear that song live too, but I think it'll be highly unlikely...

How can a soundcheck say "unlikely" to you?

Quite a lot of people as far as I can remember.

  6. I was referring to Being Born - has it been soundchecked yet? Btw, soundchecks don't necessarily mean we'll hear the song live (Drawning Man's a case in point).
  7. U2 has promised a "whole new show" for the North American leg next year.

I say they should and likely will play hithertho unplayed songs from NLOTH at least a few times. Fez, White As Snow, Cedars, or Stand Up Comedy.

The album bombed in America. Not happening pal.
  9. It didn't bomb. No albums sell great these days, certainly not esoteric rock albums.

If U2 was willing to drag Your Blue Room out of absolute total obscurity for seven performances, why not an unplayed NLOTH song or two? No, the shows won't be NLOTH heavy anymore, but that's not to say that the odd placeholder slots at every show can't swap some in here and there.

I mean, would anyone really complain if MLK or IALW was dropped on the rare night for a NLOTH track?

Sorry I thought you were referring to Mercy as this is the name of the topic.

Point taken on Drowning Man but give me 10 songs that have been soundchecked on any given tour and at least eight of them will have been played. That doesn't say "unlikely" to me..."possible" at the very least.

  11. It bombed in America because the Americans want rock and roll like Vertigo, soul like In A Little While and heavy metal like Elevation.

It did alright in Australia but don't really hear much if any stuff anymore around here.

Let's face it they've shown on this tour that they don't give a shit about pulling out obscure and none-too-familiar songs to the casual fans - Blue Room, UV, Unforgettable Fire, unreleased tracks, In A Little While...so why is Mercy out of the question?
