U2 are believed to be returning to South Africa for two shows in February, EntertainmentAfrica.com has learned from a reliable source in the UK.

The Irish supergroup, currently on their 360 Degree Tour, are reportedly set to play stadium shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg - marking the first time the full band have performed in the country since 1998.

The official SA tour announcement is anticipated later in September. In the interim, the local branch of U2's record company, Universal, has issued a statement saying that the tour "is not confirmed".

especially not when my budget is focused on the Ireland madness in 2011 and not in a few weeks again O_o guys, tell me this isn't true. I can't add any more working hours - this tour is a killer

Kirsten spoke for me! Roll on 2011 (Why not celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Slane Castle concerts... at Slane Castle? ) but... hell, don't make it this year, no no no, we need time to acommodate our budget and travel plans and everything. I don't think 2010 is an option, but I strongly believe 2011 is.
  3. Ireland (outdoor) in October? Wrap up warm!

  4. Bah, us UK folk have seen worse. It's the Spanish, Italian, Australian and etc contingency that need forewarning.

Being a 'UK Folk' myself I know all about it!!!

Jeez - going to an outdoor gig in Scotland at ANYTIME is a recipe for disaster!

    Well said!
  7. Just read about the South African rumors. I'd love to see they playing there again after such a long time, but I believe the chances aren't so big...

Well you never know. After the world cup they now have the stadiums for it, which have cost millions but nowadays are hardly used anyway. What better way to fill it then a U2 concert, although they need to consider the ticket prices.
  9. U2 to Mexico in the spring next year.
See U2.com (not really a rumour, but anyway
  10. Christ that will be one big gig.
