    Snow Patrol are dull as dishwater!!! I cant understand the SP love-in on this site althought I see im in the minority!

    Dull? I understand that they can sound a little "stereotypical" if you don't go much into their discography (most of their hits sound pretty much the same, just guitar+voice intro and a slow crescendo with bass+drums and more overlayered guitars)... But if you get a little more into their stuff, you realize they're a great band with great little unknown songs. They have no gradiosity, no vanity. They write, they record, they play, and do all of those things just for fun. Maybe that's the big difference - they're not incredibly huge...but maybe because they don't want to.

    Snow Patrol have been kicking around over here for ages and are seen as a relatively big act but Ive always found them boring.

    As I said, its only my opinion - I just find them to be dull dull dull and I dont want to see them AGAIN on the next U2 tour!

    Yep, if you compare their UK Album sales of the last 3 releases, they're even bigger than U2.
    To me, they're an amazing band, also the best support act I've ever seen. More a rock band than U2 is. But as you mentioned, to each their own.

    why that?

    I love Snow Patrol, very well enjoyed them in Amsterdam last year but they're now too big to open for U2.
  8. U2 is kind of Rock/Pop to me, while I find the Patrol to be a little more Rock. Marginal difference, though. Also their gigs aren't shows but concerts. I prefer that these days.
